From the field it just seemed like they were letting the players play... an amazing concept. I realize y'all with HD TV and replay will find a hundred missed opportunities to call fouls in that game, but I was actually happy to see a game that wasn't bogged down with a flag for every little infraction.

Except that random time they decided to throw a flag.
That being said, stop whining and go find us a junior or senior QB.
I remember yelling for a holding play on OU receivers on the sideline. Very obvious. They let those slide.
We were fortunate to have a chance at the end. Have no idea why OU stopped running the ball and that fumbled punt was a nice gift.

Yep, and I remember that we were pathetic back then, bad at almost every sport. Yet we whined about the refs, and whined about gettting left out of the Big 12, and whined about the unfair world out to get us. And even though we've come a million miles from that place and time, some fans have a hard time letting go of the ol' SWC loser mentality.

Yeah, that #71 OU straddling and punching Maponga in the headgear... Just letting them play.
Seriously, that was appalling. Coupled with the fact that of all the blatant, jersey-ripping holds that OU performed all game long, the only holding penalty called in teh entire contest was on us. On the game-tying TD. After the runner was gone.
CDC had a few things to say to the Officials as they were leaving the field. I somehow doubt that they'll be receiving Christmas cards from TCU this season...
The BIGXII has an overall interest in good officiating. That fact that blatant favoring of certain teams still goes on is embarrassing. But, money talks.

You shouldn't have left before the 1st holding call of the game was called. It was at a critical time.

two years old but watch the video at the end where the ref a UT fan does a fist pump and says "yeah baby". what kind of league allows officials to behave this way?

"Allows"? Hell, they want them to behave that way!
Agree with all of this. Yeah, Foltz was holding, but it was no worse than the double holding going on to give OU the room for that long TD run.

Agree completely, I hate when refs feel like they have to throw a flag every other play.
That being said, don't "let em play" all day long and then throw the holding flag on the game-tying score. The hold(s) on the OU TD were just as blatant, and there were two of them.

On the Maponga play, most of us on the sideline had no idea what was going on until we heard the fans and looked to see him on his back and #71 straddling him. The majority of sideline photographers and reporters were watching the end of the play which was well away from the action, and I assume most of the refs were doing the same.

I agree, but watching the long TD run from the field it wasn't as obvious as y'all think, the RB wasn't scrambling behind the line he just hit the hole and was gone. If the refs weren't looking right at it they missed it watching the ball carrier sprint out into the open field. I'm not sure who's responsibility it is to watch the line for holding, but it was so quick it must have been difficult to see. On the Boykin run, and I haven't seen my footage from that endzone, I've read the hold was right next to him as he scrambled around to find an open lane. That's a completely different view for the refs and if it was indeed a blatant hold as y'all have been claiming then it was a right call. And while we're at it, there was no pass interference on the last pass, just close and solid double coverage on a receiver who should have never been thrown to by Boykin. Why we don't throw fades to Brown I'll never know.
