It all spins on, How good is Jefferson at this point? (Big Unknown)
I see Hoover getting 300 yds in the air, and TCU will likely rush for around 100 yds.
UCF will likely get around 200 yds rushing, maybe a little more, but can TCU force Jefferson to throw under pressure when he has to? Can Jefferson throw for 200+?
So far, he hasn’t.
It will be determined by who can get their share, BUT still protect the ball.

I’m gonna say Hoover protects the ball better (he hasn’t even come close to an int)
and TCU gets at least +1 turnovers to win 34-31

If I'm describing a team that TCU doesn't match up well against, it looks a lot like UCF. Big lines, ball control. TCU's D is improved, but they'll be on the field a long time.
UCF 27, TCU 19
Hoover - 62%
They’re all just paper tigers on both sides at this point. Mostly untested, except for a couple of dress rehearsals.
Very similar to TCU, UCF’s defense has been completely revamped and re-manned via the portal into an opportunistic QB pressure / stop the run defense. It will be very interesting to see which D has come together best and can bring the most pressure.
I’m betting on Avalos’ experience vs. Ted Roof’s to make that happen.
Remember, Avalos came from Boise. He is quite familiar with what Malzahn‘s offense wants to do and how he does it. In addition, Briles knows Jefferson’s weaknesses. I’m hoping this gives us an advantage of sorts.

I tend to agree, except that they ran for 400/ypg against the useless opponents they played, whereas we threw for 300+ypg, struggled to run between the tackles and had quite a poor third down conversion rate on offense. Just because you can run over rubbish teams doesn't mean you can't run over good ones, but if you can't run over rubbish ones it almost certainly does mean that you can run over good ones. If we're in 3rd and 4 situations and need to extend drives, we're going to be looking to hit JPR on a slant in traffic, or maybe we'll try to fake that look and se if we can hit Savion Williams deep and really burn them. We're just built on to try such a lower percentage strategy then UCF is. That doesn't mean we can't win, but it makes it harder to win, and nearly impossible to win them all.

[That said, UCF fan pessimists might look at Ted Roofe about how I tend to look at Johnny Tape-fingers. His defenses are often a liability.]

TCU 35
UCF 24
Hoover 65%
Hoping Johnson and Payne get more carries, but Briles needs to get more vertical with the passing game, UCF's D hasn't had a dose of speed yet...

I'm concerned about our run game. I have a feeling Hoover is going to be flinging the ball all over the place. I would not be surprised if he hits or exceeds 50 attempts. If his completion percentage is 65% or higher, I like our chances.

Briles had better come up with some creative play calling Saturday. I want TDs not FGs.

28-24 TCU

Frogs defense plays stellar, holding UCF to mostly field goals, but they can't overcome inconsistency of the offense. Hoover is forced into a lot of 3rd and longs because Cook continues his bad habit of not hitting the hole and trying to outrun people to the edge, which worked against inferior talent like Stanford and LIU. It does NOT work against UCF. Either he is pulled or figures it out way too late and the offense makes a surge, but Briles panics and calls plays forcing Williams the ball and late desperation drives lead to 3 and outs, and a turnover on TCU's last drive. Offense is so frustratingly inconsistent that Jug proceeds to pour tequila that he snuck in under his kilt into his beers and forgets he created a Fire Dykes thread and then proceeds to create another one, where people call him an idiot and to stick to the Pick Em thread and talking about pooping up Waco.

The kilt makes sense...improves pooping efficiency.
