Hoover threw for 439 yards two years ago at Provo in a 44-11 win in TCU's 5-7 disappointing season ... his first career start. It was crazy.

FORT WORTH -- Making his first career start, Josh Hoover passed for 439 yards and four touchdowns to lead TCU to a 44-11 win over BYU Saturday afternoon in Amon G. Carter Stadium.
The Horned Frogs played their most complete game of the season in totaling 584 yards of offense while holding the Cougars to one touchdown and 243 yards.
Hoover's 439 yards passing, completing 37-of-58 attempts, were the most by a TCU quarterback in his first career start since Chandler Morris threw for 461 in a 30-28 win over Baylor in 2021. The four touchdown passes were the most by a Horned Frog in his first start since Casey Pachall's four at Baylor in 2011.
TCU opened fast as senior safety Millard Bradford, making his first start of the season, returned an interception 35 yards for a touchdown on the third snap of the game's opening series.
The Horned Frogs' lead grew to 14-0 on their first offensive possession as Hoover connected with JP Richardson on a 42-yard strike. Richardson bounced off two BYU defenders then sprinted the final 20 yards into the end zone.
Richardson posted his first career 100-yard day with six catches for 104 yards. Thirteen Horned Frogs had a reception.
TCU rolled to a 31-8 lead at the half and then extended the margin on the first series of the third quarter by driving 82 yards in just eight plays, making it a 38-8 game on a 14-yard scoring toss from Hoover to Warren Thompson.

After seeing our uniforms for this game, I'd like retract my previous statement. People complain about the spit blood uniforms but this combo should be burned and banned for life. OU kicked our ass when we wore them in the Big 12 Championship game and we were absolutely destroyed and embarrassed in that game in LA when we wore them in. BYU is going to open a can on us tomorrow night. It's not going to be pretty. Blame whoever picked this uniform combo. The football gods do not like the Oreo cookie look.

The uniform for the BYU game is fine. That is especially true when compared to uniform disaster last week. I hope the red disappears for good in all uniforms after the game last week.
