TCU vs BYU

BrewingFrog

Was I supposed to type something here?
This will be one of those games that we're supposed to lose but we'll come out and play like a legit CFP contender.
You laugh, but take a look back at the last time we played v. BYU: We annihilated them at the Eclipse game, playing with confidence and flair. I stood there in ACS in wonderment, and honestly kept remarking, "Who are these guys?"

Could something like this happen on the road? At night? In Provo? I don't think so, but stranger things have happened...

Their defense will pull our pants down.
maybe second half.
Tech had some awful play calling the first 3 quarters of that game. just awful. And their execution was really bad. rcvs dropping passes left and right.
I thought BYU was overrated and they showed it. Unfortunately, we have to play a night game at Provo.

Sure that isn’t 14 points?
I don’t think we will get within 14 points. With no running game and spotty passing game, do you think we can score 14 points against their defense? With their running game and proficient passing game, do you think our defense can keep them from scoring 14 points? I don’t think either is a possibility for the Frogs. It will be the biggest blow out of our Frogs so far this year. So freaking sad…

The team I saw play Tech is beatable. Our schedule is one of the tougher ones this year.
IF sonny can get the team to actually focus, we can beat byu. that's a big IF
I've watched them this year, they have not controlled as many games as they have won.

Gametime temp will be near freezing. Likely dry, but could be moist. Small chance of light rain/snow sprinkles.
Given how close to the field my TCU tickets are, not a ton of Frog faithful are going to the game.
BYU defense is legit, offense struggling with RB LJ Martin not healthy.
I hate to say it but Tech defense is championship worthy, so I would not use that game to compare. Plus BYU is 14-17 on day games and 21-4 night games over the last few years so this is set up for BYU win.
I hope the Frogs show up and make a game of it. Dykes need to fire someone, so perhaps it is a win-win if BYU wins big.....

We have a decent run defense against a team that really doesn't have great vertical threats, although I like Roberts. The over is 52.5 with a 5.5 point spread. Which means an imputed score of 29-24. My model says 4 and 58. Based on recent trends I like BYU to cover and the under, but I'd stay away from this one...
