TCU is sitting at 30 wins with a huge series coming up tomorrow for TCU. UT is currently ranked 17th in the nation (https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/baseball/d1/d1baseballcom-top-25). UT is 20th in the RPI. This series will be a good test for TCU as we are playing on the road one final time before Big 12 tournament play with a lot to play for.

Here is an article breaking down TCU's chances for getting into the NCAA tournament: https://www.frogsowar.com/2018/5/16/17336038/tcu-baseball-ncaa-tournament-bubble-watch

Not sure I'd trust an article that claims that KSU results against San Francisco factor into whether or not the Cats make the conference tournament.

Kansas State-San Francisco

The Wildcats are the worst team in the Big 12, and they’re not going to make the tournament (only the top 8 teams qualify), unless they sweep San Francisco and the Jayhawks get swept by Oklahoma. Either way, this series is meaningless with regards to TCU’s seeding in the tournament.

I thought SanFran was the new conference mate...or maybe getting swept by OU meant you lost Ws instead of adding L's for Kansas?

Weather should be hot for this series but very good otherwise. Surprised the teams haven't released the lineups on twitter yet. Maybe some gamesmanship going on.

The first inning is showing the difference between the two ballclubs. UT pitcher is in control on the mound and efficient with his pitches. Ours is talented but struggling to find the plate. Their batters are able to make contact and get more swings and ours miss and can't extend at bats. Frogs needs to change that and force the UT pitcher into the stretch or this will be a short one. And Lodolo needs to settle in or he won't be making it far in this one. Time to flush the 1st and hope for 180 degree turn fast.

Lodolo actually looked better in the 2nd.

Yeah, he settled in but then we don't see the defense come into help him. Rizer must knock that ball down even if it surprises him. UT was able to take that one error in judgment and turn it into a run. Meanwhile, our bats were quiet again in the second and UT's pitcher has another under 15 pitch inning. Would have thought the team would be more locked for such a big game. Hopefully, it is just nerves.

Sucks getting Thrown out on SB and next 2 batters get on base.

Then, first and third 1 out ground into DP after chopper down 3rd base line goes just foul.....smh

Of course their run is off an error and FC

1-0 UT bot 3

The 3rd inning is frustrating. The TCU bats show UT's pitcher is mortal if we can get him in the stretch but we hit a weak double play ball to kill our threat. Then, in the bottom of the order, our fielding has another mental error as UT shows they are the more intelligent baseball team. We appear to have no knowledge on how to field pop-ups as this was the second cause for concern on a pop-up. Beyond frustrating to see in a game with so much at stake. Some players need to be getting on each other because this shouldn't be happening this late in the season.

And Lodolo has a lot of talent but he needs to dedicate himself to his craft if he wants to get better. Currently, at least when he is in the stretch, he let's his glove hand flail out on his delivery rather than return it back into his body on the follow thru. I think he would find better results with his accuracy and longevity in games if he changed his mechanics.

As it stands, UT is ahead 2-0 going into the 4th.
