TCU on SI: Brett Yormark Outlines Big 12's Future at 2026 Media Days

I think Yormark has overall done a good job as commish. However, I think he stepped on a rake during media days. I really don’t understand what the point is with this monster energy partnership. $1 million for every school so they can slap their logo on everything? I could understand that for $10 million, not $1M. It’s a horrible look for the conference. And I thought he did about as bad of a job answering the questions relating to Tech/Sorsby as he possibly could have. His default was to basically say nothing and get angry. Did he not think he was going to get asked about that?

Our conf champ games saw a 39% increase. He has continued to bring new revenue. When Texas and OU left, he managed to turn around the media deal we were going to lose and keep it at the levels we wanted. And grew from there. That ACC and Big 12 and other conference commish folks have shown support for most concepts in the Protect College Sports Act. (not sure what the hell the save college football act is. but hey, congrats on being so clued in that you don't seem know the facts of anything.)
That conference game increase was due to Tech fans, not anything he did. They flooded that stadium in record numbers, I know, I was unfortunately there. If you think anything Yormark did had more to do with that than the DFW and surrounding Tech fans showing up, then you have no idea.

Sorry I got the exact title of the act wrong, tough guy but you know exactly what I’m talking about.

B12 getting torched in national media for the monster energy deal, but getting love for handling the Sorsby deal. Yormark getting respect for putting Campbell in the timeout chair for once.
Ed: and as a side bonus TT will be the villain of the entire CFB world for at least this season and probably beyond.

Yormark showed his tacky Jersey roots on this Monster deal - he should be working for Trump. Why the hell did the universities approve this cheap tacky deal?
The football and men’s and women’s basketball seasons will also be called “Monster Energy Big 12 Football” and “Monster Energy Big 12 Basketball.”

The Big XII is now promoting an unhealthy addictive drink loaded with 54 grams of sugar along with its caffeine, sucralose and synthetic chemical compounds.

And Nick Saban had a bottle of Coca Cola next to him at every press conference. Much ado about nothing.

Was I supposed to type something here?

Probably a sponsorship deal...

I can remember a Big 10 Media Days once, when the old walrus Iowa State coach had finished up and walked off the stage, then turned around and walked back up and rummaged around in the podium for a moment. He then produced a drink cup with a straw sticking out, and mumbled into the mic, "I came back to get my Coke. Don't know why. There's nuthin' in it..."

This is a great ON3 interview with Sonny Dykes covering many topics.
Including how TCU is navigating NLI and revenue sharing.
You should skip the first 10 minutes, it’s worthless small talk.
