TCU-Ohio State gets ABC Primetime, UT to play Alabama, other non-conference notes

Nice! Yeah, I think by game time the hype is going to be huge - and maybe a top 10 matchup. I’m still trying to decide if I’m going. One of my best buddies in Austin is a big OSU fan, so he fills me in on the team and we banter back and forth. But he no doubt said we’ll have our hands full with the d-line and Bosa.

I’m pumped to see how our d-line does. We have a very salty front 4. Also, no secret, but I’m very very bullish on #1 Jalen Reagor at WR. He had a big year last year as a freshman, but I think didn’t nearly hit his potential due to our offensive scheme and lack of vertical attack. I think he’s a top 5 receiver in the country and with hopefully an improved aerial attack, he’s going to explode. Will be fun to see what he can do unleashes against a top team.
I agree about the hype. It should be a top 10 match up that will go a long way for the winner to make their opening statement for the playoffs. One of these days I would like to make it to Jerry World, but it's not in the cards for this game. Do you foresee more of a vertical attack this year with Robinson taking over for Hill? I agree with your friend, admittedly biased, that the defensive line may be too much to handle. I'm very bullish on the other defensive end, Chase Young. Talent level, I believe he is right up there with the Bosas at the same point in their respective careers.

Either of them better than JJ Watt?

i truly believe gary not only wanted a chance to compete head to head with osu for a couple of seasons in a row, but the chance to sell his program and the campus to kids who otherwise would not set foot on the tcu campus

it is amazing to me when i talk to coaches, players, parents, etc... and they do not realize what tcu has to offer them in regards to facilities. no, we do not have cyborg lockers like texas or bathroom mirrors with back lit tv screens and a barber shop like a&m.

we do have a great training facility, indoor/ outdoor practice areas as goods as anyone (except for the occasional rouge sprinkler head), stadium can be a great enviroment, and the campus is a great selling point compared to the small cities that texas and a&m, but a large part of this very state don't know that. hell, we have had the indoor practice facility for how long while texas has a freaking giant parachute they have to bus to and kids think texas' has been facilities.
Speaking of sprinkler heads...

Regardless, it's a bit of a stretch to say beating JJ Watt and the 2010-11 Wisconsin team predicts anything for the 2018-19 game against Ohio State.

Yes, because that was a serious attempt up do that. I have little doubt that The Fighting Seeds will win the game.

I would much prefer to see the 2014 teams of both schools play.

I know you weren't completely serious, but I have seen other references to it since I started looking at this site. I agree, that would have been a fun matchup. The real top 4 in hind site would have been Alabama, Oregon, Ohio State, then TCU instead of Florida St.
