Now, everyone wants us to play (SMU) again because they beat us a few times. Good grief. And what marque programs are going to play us in the nonconference?
I want to play them because it's an interesting, historical rivalry and they are a P4 team now. Better than some lame FCS team. If ADMB doesn't renew the series he's not worth spit.

Yes, 2026 could be a great season but we have to get a good start. I feel like some of the games we moved to Jerry World & lost killed the momentum & whole season.
People forget that we damned near choked up the opening game of the Rose Bowl season in that very manner.

Did we have a choice? If we had said no, would UNC just have canceled the game and paid us off? Would it be better to play them in Ireland than play UTSA at home?
they would have had to pay us.
but I don't think it was that type of issue. I think it was another "hey, screw the fans and seasion tic holders, we have done it before" type issue.
It will probably jack with our season in 2026 as well. So enjoy dublin (which is overrated and dingy by the way), because it will likely be another crap bowl that season.

Well, this has evidently been in the works for some time now. I guess we now know why they were in such a rush to get the Season Tickets sold, while clinging to the "You get this many Home Games next year!"

Something they knew was a lie when they were saying it.

You're off to a great start, ADMB.
yup. the [ deposit from a bull that looks like Art Briles ] never ends. and they know not enough people will complain, so they won't adjust the prices.
Until people start showing up when the AD is in public speaking at a chamber of commerce or such, and calling them out for their [ deposit from a bull that looks like Art Briles ], it won't change.

I cannot believe all of the uproar about SMU. We owned them for decades, 75% of the fan base got sick and tired of playing in their high school stadium and we all got tired of us being their Super Bowl. The administration listened to our fans and cancelled the series. Now, everyone wants us to play them again because they beat us a few times.

Good grief.

well, at least we would get a non conf game with a P4 with SMU. Anybody else, we just get screwed out of the deal by our own admins.

New AD Scorecard
1. Absentee- Have to wrap things up with old employer
2. Season ticket price increase
3. Visibility- Minimal, No tweets, no emails, press conferences?
4. UNC- Great for student athletes, and staff. Terrible for fans. I don't really see UNC as a marquis non conference but it is the closest thing since Arkansas (maybe CU but we got lucky with the Deon hire)? I wonder where we will play Stanford?

What am I missing?
you could have just wrote:
meet the new AD, same as the last two ADs.

other than that, I think you're pretty spot on.

Exactly. Bald-faced lie to the season ticket base.

You will accept it and like it sir.

To me, it’s less about SMU, and more about the lie. I really didn’t have an issue with dropping them. They made it their singular goal to beat us every year, and their stadium is so poorly run and crappy that people could have gotten seriously hurt/ill. It all just got tiring, annoying, and pathetic.
My beef with was that they cancelled it and told us they would give us more home games. And now that’s not the case.

I remember when they rebuilt the stadium they said that it would help attract better opponents. We move basically every big non conference game. I don't know why anyone would buy season tickets. No Texas, no OU and no good ooc games.
Living in Chicago, I don't get to many games. I was at the 2021 & 2022 TCU-Texas games in Fort Worth and in Austin. Attendance at the game in Fort Worth sucked, the game in Austin was sold out.

I seem to remember an Oath that was once taken seriously at ADMB's last place of employment: "I will not lie, cheat, or steal. Nor will I tolerate those who do."

Like so many other things, these words and the ethos they defined have slowly faded away...

The announcement is not about the UNC game or Ireland opener. It’s a “major announcement” about the TCU football program. That means the program overall not something specific like a game or schedule. Learn context clues

I’ve personally seen him more since he’s been here then I did Donati. he was at almost every single womens hoops game during their run and he’s been to a lot of home baseball games and diamond club luncheons.

Who in the athletic administration needs to get oral pleasure in order for us to get a decent intersectional game at home? First LSU then Ohio State and now North Carolina.
