In West Virginia, Frogs end the second round in 6th, but they are closer to the lead (10 shots) than to the team in 7th (12 shots). So they can chase tomorrow. Beauchamp fell down the board with a quad in the afternoon round, but Sam Udovich shot a 66 to move into the top 5 individually.

TCU men finish strong in West Virginia. Frogs shoot -11 in round 3 to pass 5th-ranked Arkansas and catch 6th-ranked Oklahoma State for a T4 finish.

Sam Udovich shoots a 68 to finish solo third at -8. Charlie Wylie adds a bogey-free 67, and all six Frogs finish in the top 40 of a 104-player field.

On to the Big 12 Championship.

TCU reunion today on the Mayan Riviera. Hayden Springer and Paul Barjon are paired together for the final round of the Korn Ferry Tour event there. Neither is threatening the top 20 for the event or the points list. (Springer was 41st going into the week; this looks like Barjon's first made cut of the year.) Just thought it was fun to see two Frogs sharing a tee time in the pros.

TCU women are on the course at the Dallas Athletic Club for the Big 12 Championships. The competition looks like a total free-for-all: no team ranked above 15, but nine teams ranked between 21 and 41. Almost any of these teams could finish first...or last.

Frogs are tied for first in the early going--if anyone happens by to see them, they started Round 1 on the back nine, playing with Colorado and Texas Tech.

Frogs are T7 after round 1 of the Big 12 Championships. They are just 3 shots out of 3rd, though.

Individually, Sofia Barroso Sá shot -2 for T2 individually. Great to see her in the lineup and playing well as she nears the end of her TCU career.

The team of Hayden Springer/Some Guy Named Smalley is the clubhouse leader in the best ball round 1 of the Zurich in Nawlins at -14. Springer had 8 birds, including the last 4 straight; Smalley had 6 birds and an eagle.
Hoge/Horschel 3 shots back, tied for 4th. Four birds and eagle for Tom.

Hayden Springer not only gets a big-Tour start in New Orleans but holds the first-round lead (with Alex Smalley). They shot 58 in better ball--Smalley opened -4 through 3; Springer closed with three straight birdies.

Kirsten Angosta with a stellar 67 to get into the top 5 at the Big 12 Championships. She's two back of the lead with a round to play.

Frogs are still 7th as a team but improved 4 shots on yesterday's score.

Round 3 at The Zurich in Nawlins:
Fitz Bros. had an event best ball record -15 to take a 4 stroke lead into Sunday . They're at -30.
Springer/Smalley T2 after a -10 round. (-26)
Hoge/Horschel T5 after a -8 round. (-23)
Need the Fitzpatricks to go down into the Quarter and eat some rancid Creole tonight. Or get completely blitzed so they miss their tee time.

TCU women finished 8th after making a hash of the final hole. Bad news is that Camille Min-Gaultier was subbed out for the final round, which makes me wonder if she's battling something. Good news is that freshman Yvette O'Brien, who was subbed in, shot a 2-under 70 to lead the Frogs. Confidence builder. Also, Kirsten Angosta posted a top 10. I'm guessing they'll end up an 8 seed in regionals.

Springer/Smalley now tied for the lead after 15. Fitz Bros. have 4 to play after blowing 4-shot lead.
Hoge/Horschel in the clubhouse in 8th.

Smalley par putt burns the edge on 17. They are 1 stroke back headed to 18. Should be an easy birdy on the par 5.
Updates:
Fine tee shot by Springer on 18. It's alternate shot today...
Smalley 2nd shot just short of green. Springer will have an eagle putt from the fringe to take the lead...
Left what looked like a 35-footer 2 feet short. Smalley taps in for bird. They are in the clubhouse tied for the lead. Fitz Bros. are on 17, also tied for the lead with a Norwegian team that had 3 eagles on the day to get to -30. So currently, a 3-way tie for the lead...
M Fitz missed birdy try on 17. They will head to 18 needing birdy to win. I'd say there's an 80 percent chance they do. It's getable...
M. Fitz drives it down the middle...
Hoge/Horschel have moved up to T6th while sitting in the clubhouse...
Uh oh. A. Fitz second shot in greenside bunker...
Wow! M. Fitz hits a beautiful long bunker shot that stops and spins within kick-in distance. They will win as A. Fitz will tap it in. First PGA Tour win for the younger Fitzpatrick brother, Alex.
Springer/Smalley will finish T2.
Hoge/Horschel T6.
