Tom will wind up with a T3 finish, 2 shots behind the eventual winner. Tune in tomorrow morning at 8 central for a 3-hole playoff between McIlroy and Spaun . Those great holes 16, 17 and 18.

Best tournament golf course in the world in my opinion. Doesn’t really favor any particular type of player (other than a great iron player) and almost every hole is entertaining with a wide fluctuation of scores. Yeah, 17 is a gimmick hole but it’s a fun one that makes those guys pucker up a bit. And best set of par 5’s in golf.

And have to celebrate with Tom as he ends up ties for third, sharing third place with two others, and netting a payout of just over $1,500,000.

Golf.com says the T3 share is $1.325M; anything in 7 figures is a good week of work, and it lifts Hoge into the top 20 on the points list.

Hayden Springer earns $81K+ for his T42 finish and moves up 4 spots to 85th on the points list. Meaningful for getting him more starts.

For those in the Houston area, the TCU men play tomorrow at the Golf Club of Houston in Humble. 36 on Monday, 18 on Tuesday, with a 7a shotgun for Round 1. Frogs are paired with host Houston and 16th-ranked UNLV.

TCU men had a decent day on the links. Individually, they are E (Pagdin), +1, +1, +1, +3 -- the top four all being T22 or better. As a team they are 4th, and a long way behind Houston, which is enjoying the home cooking, with its top 3 sitting 1, 2, 4.

Frogs also trail Troy and Southern Miss; #16 UNLV is chasing TCU and the others.

TCU women also played 36 today in Austin, where scoring conditions were difficult. Only host Texas is better than +19 through two rounds. TCU is T5 at +33. The Frogs counted a 79 in each round. Winans and Sa are both +10 to lead TCU. Final round tomorrow.

TCU men shot the best round of the day (even) and moved up a spot to finish third in Houston. Scott Roden finished T6 and Charlie Wylie T12 to lead the Frogs. They might hold their ranking since they beat #16 UNLV, and the podium finish pushes their overall record 11 spots above .500, which keeps their postseason hopes alive. Roden has talent, and when he is on, the Frogs are competitive.

TCU women struggled with gusty winds in Austin. They finished T5 behind other teams in the top 40, but scoring averages took a hit and the Frogs were 36 shots back of the winners. Meagan Winans finished T9 and Sofia Barroso Sá T16. Sá often does well on tough setups. I could see some competition developing for the number-5 slot; it's been a little shaky.

Congrats to Angela Stanford, named 2026 USA Solheim Cup team captain!

Angela is very deserving, but when Stacy Lewis was named captain for 2024, I thought it meant that the torch had passed to the next generation and that Angela had been passed over due to her record in the Solheim (4-13-2). There seems to be a smaller set of people willing to take on the challenge of captaining in Europe. Whatever the reason, congrats to Angela on this honor.

Filippo Celli shot a Sunday 65 to finish T4 in the Delhi Challenge. He's picked up one start this year on the DP World Tour but has mostly been playing a level down.

No Laying Up interviewed Angela Stanford about her Solheim Cup captaincy. She talked about wanting to captain a road team because of the feeling you get when you go into someone else's house with a rowdy crowd and win. She knows who her assistants will be, but apparently there's a schedule for rolling out announcements. I wouldn't be surprised, though, if they included some of those she listed among her favorite U.S. players, which included Paula Creamer and Lexi Thompson. Cristie Kerr too, maybe?

I totally dropped the ball in failing to promote the Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate (Spring edition) at Colonial Monday and Tuesday. Wow, what a field. Eleven of the top 20 teams were in Fort Worth and 7 of the top 10 individual players. Hope some of you had a chance to see the action.

TCU acquitted itself well, finishing T6. Last week, the Frogs got thumped by UT by 36 shots; this week, they tied the #6 Longhorns. They also beat #5 USC, #15 Vanderbilt, #17 A&M and #18 Mississippi State. They stayed within 19 shots of top-ranked Stanford (which won at Even) and #3 Oregon (runner-up at +2).

Individually, Camille Min-Gaultier picked up her 4th top-10 of the season, shooting Even to finish T9. The freshman beat at least a dozen players who will be teeing it up at Augusta next week, including both of her playing partners, Stanford's Megha Ganne and Wake Forest's Macy Pate.

Colonial also acquitted itself well. Top-10 players comprised half of the top 12 on the leaderboard, and only 8 of 75 players finished under par. The winner was former ANWA champ Anna Davis (-9), who shot a final-round 64.

Frogs will be off for a few weeks until the Big 12 Championships.

Reminds me of the 4 handicap guy on Twitter who says he can beat LPGA pros, lol.

I don't care what tees they played from, 64 is special. Colonial still requires excellent approach shots from any distance, and you have to make some putts. And you have to drive it well to put yourself in position to hit those iron shots. She averaged 67 over the three days. That's some elite golf.
