If you look at the teams that we've played in the big 12 and take out the game we played, we have given up 96 yds less per game than our opponents averaged on offense.
UT averages 457 yds, we gave up 300 (minus 157)
KSU averages 430 yds, we gave up 260 (minus 170)
WVU averages 521 yds, we gave up 338 (minus 183)
OSU averages 444 yds, we gave up 471 (plus 26.4)
TTU averages 511 yds, we gave up 389 (minus 122)
Baylor averages 589 yds, we gave up 432 (minus 157)
ISU averages 373 yds, we gave up 350 (minus 23)
BU averages 365 yds, we gave up 380 (plus 14)
It isn't too shabby to hold 5 of your conference foes at this point to more than 122 yds per game under their average offensive output with a bunch of freshman and sophomores.
We are ranked number 17 in total defense and the next closest team in conference is Texas Tech ranked #39. I think we'll have a lot of success in this conference once we get our offense going.
