TCU banning Steven Johnson/Star Telegram over assault reporting

The Star-Telegram got what it deserved and I'm glad TCU followed through with pulling the credentials. If y'all knew the crap the legacy media types get away with compared to us "online outlets" given the constant threat we're under for losing ALL access… well I don't think you'd be too shocked. However, the reporting on the Fields situation was egregious and the fact that the entire media is circling the wagons to defend an act of journalistic malpractice tells you everything you need to know about the state of that profession.

I don't know how this society has placed journalists and teachers above reproach. In my experience, both are the most sanctimonious groups of people I've ever seen.

All the players now have the vision of this horrid assault in the locker room that put their teammate in the hospital for days and will mark their memory about this season. Every time they look at Dozie this incident jumps front and center. The QB from Harvard might be thinking, what the hell is this circus….
Or it unites the team since Asshoe Fields is gone.

I am guessing that they are working with TCU to get them to back off on this stupid decision, and he's thinking that it will be resolved by game time?

Would not call it a stupid decision by TCU. But anyway, SJ can follow the game online and on tv. He prolly has friends in the press who will feed him stats and game info from the press box, plus postgame quotes. And he can cover other stuff about TCU here that doesn’t require a credential.

He will be at the game.

So now we’re going after teachers?

Some of them. With the whole FWISD brouhaha, somehow all teachers are completely innocent. Well, my son goes to school across the street in one of the so-called best elementary schools in the district and I've got some strong opinions about some of the teachers he's had over the last 5 years. Any slight objection to anything and I'm force fielded by their whoa is me theatrics. I can't question anything and it has gotten exhausting. In 3rd grade the teacher said my son was displaying signs of toxic masculinity and said he should act more like a certain effiminate boy who's parents let him wear high-heeled boots to school.

Yeah, I'm sure they'll remember it, but I don't think it will have any impact on the team, other than what not having Dozie on the field will cost us in terms of production. He'll recover, some of them will probably talk about what a dick and hothead Fields was, and that's about it.

What are we supposed to do? Be sad? Fire people? Quit? Come on here and complain? I guarantee you everyone on that team is just moving on like they normally do and getting ready for a game.
There is no excuse for what Fields did. Complain and be angry at him, alone; that is what I have done here without saying a word complaining about anyone else; and I did not comment on the thread about Fields being booted. This was the first I have chimed in.

I was trying to turn this thread back to the instigator, the thug is the sole one to blame. Fields coldcocked a teammate and now it has led to people here blaming Dykes, Buddie, TCU administration, Steven Johnson and the Star-Telegram for how it was handled; and on the Fields’ incident thread, people suggesting it is no surprise or big deal or understandable that Fields’ sucker punched a player in the locker room and put him in the hospital for days, jeepers; he could have died, then what? Someone stated Dozie hit his head on the floor and Fields didn’t stop. Brain bleed and death happens after falling and whacking the head on the floor, table or bench.

This board squats to pee so much!
I have a friend that told me a few years ago that his wife insists he sits so he doesn't splatter and I thought that was goofy at the time. But I now sit just so I don’t have to clean around the toilet as much. Even better, just slap that man-hood down in the sink, piss and then thoroughly splash some water around in the sink since you are washing your hands there anyhow, and it saves a flush. By far the easiest most logical way to go. It all goes down the same pipe anyhow, so take advantage of your convenient man hose and use the sink! Though I promise I haven’t done such in your house, ha.

Not getting a lot of friendly looks, lol
I've read this entire thread and maybe I missed where the TCU official getting paid 6 figs plus that made the decision to remove S Johnson should have shown their face via 9 second faux press conference. That is the historical precedent for SIDs and ADs over the last 40 years.

Specifically, I am curious as to WHY the individual who thought they were making this call considered it wise WITHOUT showing their face.

The persons at TCU who made the decision to pull S Johnson off are being given a platinum pass to hide like a 5th grade kid.

If they want to say that it was a collective departmental decision, then they need to read up about the history of Group Think and the disasters of group think.
