Transfer Portal Brings Changes to TCU Men’s Basketball​

Just weeks removed from a second-round exit in the NCAA tournament, the transfer portal is shaking things up for TCU men’s basketball.

Three Horned Frogs guards have already announced their intention to enter the transfer portal, signaling a major shift for the Frogs’ supporting cast going into the 2026-27 season.

Among them is sophomore guard RJ Jones, who appeared in just nine games this season. Jones transferred to TCU after his freshman year at Kansas State (2023–24), but an injury sidelined him for the entire 2024–25 campaign, limiting his impact in Fort Worth.

The fact it took him so long to enter the portal makes me think that there was a bidding war, that I guess we finally just lost.
