TCU 360: Four-star running back Kyle Hicks commits to TCU over "change of heart"

By Aundre Dean

Arlington Martin running back and TCU signee Kyle Hicks said he thought the University of Texas at Austin was his dream school, but after visiting TCU, he had a change of heart.

"It was just a good feeling after my TCU trip," Hicks said. "I saw myself watching more TCU games than anything, and that’s when I just knew TCU was more for me.”

Hicks is a four-star prospect who rushed for 1,685 yards and 28 touchdowns his senior year in nine games. He also saw some action at quarterback, throwing for 458 passing yards and no interceptions.

Hicks verbally committed to play for the Longhorns his junior year, but changed his mind his senior year. ...

nice work Dean! he bout that life!

i think the proximity to DFW recruits is really going to help us win some battles... Hicks mentioned his family coming to see his games "as opposed to 3 hour drives"

I think the family found out that the 3 hour drive is actually a four hour drive.

I wonder of Aundre is working on an undercover expose' on the secret inner-workings of the college football-industrial complex?

It would have been funny if he wrote one sentence this way, "....following the TCU 2012 football season the Frogs lost 2 running backs to graduation, me and Matthew Tucker and lost Ed Wesley to the supplemental draft."

Just clicked on Dean's name in the byline and read some of his previous articles. All well-written and as good as any college level journalism I've read. I'm impressed.

Doesn't shock me, I worked with his mom a little bit right after college (she's a small business owner) and was a very smart/driven woman

He's a sharp guy.... one of my friends has worked with him a good amount and has had only positive things to say. Aundre will be successful in whatever he does.
