Yeah we could have - his deal is better than a large number of QBs not struggling with the speed of the gameSorry, but we couldn't buy a better QB.

What if he played like Kamario Taylor or Faizon Brandon……what if?Just saying that you want to put him in the best situation to succeed and not throw him into an unwinnable situation. The entire roster was rated high enough to be recuited that doesn’t mean they can play. This is no longer about this year Sorry starting him against BYU would be really stupid. Of course with this staff I guess it could happen
Hate to break it to you guys, but Baylor doesn't suck like you're imaginingNo it’s not. But that wasn’t my point which you obviously missed. It really doesn’t matter who you start @ qb next week it’s most likely going to be ugly There’s no reason to throw a kid making his first start to the wolves. Let him play mop up time in the second half and take the bye week to get him ready to start against Baylor and hopefully for the rest of the season and beyond.
Didn’t say they sucked. I just laid out what I thought was the best plan for Schobel moving forward. Love to hear yoursHate to break it to you guys, but Baylor doesn't suck like you're imagining
I got nothing. Just happened to watch Baylor game, and they aren't bad. Play with more fire and emotion than Sonny's bunch does.Didn’t say they sucked. I just laid out what I thought was the best plan for Schobel moving forward. Love to hear yours
"Admittedly, a low bar..."Play with more fire and emotion than Sonny's bunch does.
I don't care if it is Schobel Daulton throwing 5 interceptions each against BYU. LET IT BURN. That appears to be the only way to get the attention of Bozo admins and coaches. In the days of NIL, it is vital that we find QB's out of high school and develop him. We did it with Hoover. I remember when we were first looking for a QB, it was to be a veteran to be competition for Schobel. Somewhere along the way it became Craig's job by default. Craig might look great during warmups, but it has been about as bad as you can get in the UNC and UCF games. It can't be much worse with Schobel.
This remarkably DIFFERENT than most of those situations. The most popular player on any struggling team is the backup QB.
I have watched Kamario Taylor play partial game against UT last year and 40 minutes or so of highlights this year. He is NOT Anthony Richardson. Taylor understands defenses, has touch and unlike TCU QB possesses the god given skill of escapability. What if he played like Kamario Taylor or Faizon Brandon……what if?
And he is 19, and why they are winning. He stood out at Manning PA, I had never heard of him.I have watched Kamario Taylor play partial game against UT last year and 40 minutes or so of highlights this year. He is NOT Anthony Richardson. Where I am as well. Was hopeful about this new offense but this offensive line makes running it impossible.Yeah, after recalibrating my brain after the game, the fault is not with Craig. Was he great? No. He missed wide open guys, never saw some, threw WAY too hard on passes that required touch, and panics way too quickly. But playing the “gunslinger” role is not what we brought him here for. He was supposed to be a game manager leading a balanced, efficient system. But our O-line is so bad that we had to abandon the entire reason we brought both him and Sammis here. After rewatching the game, that is the single worst performance I have seen from a TCU O-line…ever. Weak, slow, confused, and undisciplined.

IMO that's one of Sonny's weaknesses. His motivational schtick is tired and predictable.

Yeah, if he can’t handle a 70% full bounce house, his brain is going to melt in Tuscon and Lubbock.I didn’t understand why he had the yips in front of 20k at the freaking Bounce House. Looked like David Carr out there on a few occasions.
Maybe because they keep shuffling everyone around "looking for the best 5". No continuity develops. And I don't think it's Sammis. We did the same thing last year with Briles.............But then what do I know.Yeah, after recalibrating my brain after the game, the fault is not with Craig. Was he great? Our inability to run the QB, is allowing the defense to pin their ears back and bring pressure. What we don’t know is if that refusal to run the qb (either by called runs or read options, or tuck and scramble) is by design or if that’s Craig not making the proper reads.Yeah, after recalibrating my brain after the game, the fault is not with Craig. At 70, 20-30 yards of wide open grass still says run anyway you can, to me!Yeah, after recalibrating my brain after the game, the fault is not with Craig. Was he great?
