I think Duggan had that X factor that made him a true threat on the field. Boykin had it too. Does Mr. Harvard have football smarts and instincts? Can this be taught or is it a natural skill? We shall see how he analyzes his performance and missed opportunities from Dublin and fixes that in the next game. If we don't beat Grambling by a lot, then I'm all for Adam Schobel getting a shot.

Shades of Delton. See. coaches can make mistakes. Schobel is not ready and neither is Daulton. How did the experiment with Everhart at RB work out? I must have missed it as I was probably in a trance thinking I knew it, I knew it, I knew It.

That last one was on him for sure. He could have taken 3 strides and dove forward for the first.

There were some other plays where he made some big time moves to get the ball to the rcvr. Juking back around the defender then delivering the ball. The other shuttle (somewhat) pass knowing he was going to get hit from behind.

Still, we went 3 quarters without a point. Obviously, not going for FGs and the snap over the punters head were the game.

As much as folks are nervous about the secondary, that defense only allowed 3 points for the last 47 minutes of the game.

I’m still going to argue Sammis called a pretty good game, it was just poorly executed. Then on the third 4 th and short in the shadow of the end zone, I’m pretty sure he realized his qb can’t/won’t run so he didn’t call a qb sneak.

His teammates knew it, and they knew that they had to turn it up a notch, because it was probably the most shameful thing ever to disappoint Max when he had already set the example to live up to.

I thought TCU should have marketed a shirt for Max: "Hic sunt Dracones!" ("Here be dragons!") written in calligraphy across the chest.

Execution is on the OC. He should have had them in game form and ready to run his game plan. Sadly, he can call whatever he wants, but if the players can't execute...

Craig somewhat reminds me of Kenny. Hill was pretty calm on the field. Didn't get rattled too much.
Does he have abilities that Kenny had, guess we'll know for sure over the next few games. Either it was one bad game, or it is not.

And unlike Duggan who had time to improve over a few years, Craig is a one year and done player. In this new college football world, the expectation on a portal transfer with one year of eligibility, its a win now situation. They need to come in and light it up or bye bye birdie.

Beautifully stated. All heart, he was. A pleasure to watch him and never doubt in any game that he left everything he had on the field.

I really want to know what the deal with Craig is, because it has to be either A) He was specifically told not to run or B) he is scared of getting hit. If the former, we are owed an explanation, especially when we were given a used car salesman spiel about now having a mobile quarterback. If the latter, he is in the wrong sport in the wrong era.

The team could have still been reacting to what happened in the Locker room and overalll didn't think the coaching staff did what was appropriate. Something going on, they were too flat and it wasn't the travel because NC did it also.

Regarding the passing situation with Craig, it's possible that Coach Belichek, who was calling the defense personally, had much to do with not getting the ball to open receivers at medium depth over the middle.

He designed his rush defense on passing downs to collapse the middle of the pocket to keep Craig from stepping up. Craig was not use to that and that aspect was probably not part of practice. Then it was frustration and panick as Belichek was really bringing the heat. He became so frustrated that he would miss on swing passes. Sammis did not click and call plays for him to roll out and get out of that pocket and run if his receiver is covered. Didn't perform under pressure and of course Sonny was too busy arguing with the refs.

Sorry, Craig is probably a good guy with some academic smarts, but this is not his game at this level. Better move on with Schobel and Daulton. The Ivy League is next in line upward over sandlot football. I find it strange that Sonny, Dorchester, and Sammis didn't know that. What does that tell us?
