Knowing full well that it is thrifty to prepare today for the wants of tomorrow, TCU coach Gary Patterson picked up quarterback Shawn Robinson one Monday morning in July and figuratively dropped him into the heat of Death Valley.
The coach included the sophomore as one of five representatives of TCU at Big 12 Media Days.
“You can say it was a test run,” Patterson said. “You know me, I don’t send many young people. I wanted him to see there is a lot more to this. Every setting you can get into that he can handle himself is going to make him more mature."
