At San Antonio Reagan, Ty Summers was an all-district, left-handed, run-pass quarterback with an eye on going to Rice and studying to be an orthopedic surgeon.
That’s where TCU coach Gary Patterson picked up the story at this week’s Big 12 Football Media Days.
Patterson saw a smart kid that he could convert into a linebacker. And he had one scholarship left.
