As a former football player at TCU I have witnessed what happens when things are built the right way and when people are treated the right way. What a lot of sports fans do not realize is that as players we are human beings and have thoughts, feelings, and emotions and lives of our own. When I first came to TCU as a freshman football player we had some of the worst facilities in the country but over time because things have been done in the correct, ethical way we have built some of the best. But more importantly the coaches of our football program as well as other programs in the athletic department treat their athletes with the utmost love and tender care because they are dealing with other people's children. And when that is done human beings can accomplish extraordinary things in life and beyond the sports arena. I can say with 100 percent confidence that our Athletic Department is a Beacon of Light to the whole sports world. If youth sports were also done in this fashion which, unfortunately, they are not a lot of the times then this world would be a better place for all athletes. In conclusion, one of the most important sayings we have at Texas Christian University is found in our weight room and it says "You're a Horned Frog: Live Like it, Think Like it, Act Like it".
