Baylor, TCU could join West Virginia in having interest in hiring former national champion college football coach​

FanSided’s John Buhler believes Baylor and TCU could join West Virginia in having an interest in hiring former national championship head coach at FSU, Jimbo Fisher.

Buhler sounded skeptical of the homecoming narrative Couz’s Corner host Justin Walker pushes on his show but came around on the Mountaineers making a radical coaching change if things continue going south. Ditto for the Bears and Horned Frogs.

“As far as if Fisher would work in West Virginia, he might. He has shown an ability to recruit at a high level, although that may have more to do with the schools he worked at. While the coming home narrative feels authentic, it could also be fabricated. Regardless, West Virginia may need to hit the reset button because things have grown stale under Brown. Besides, Fisher could land elsewhere,” Buhler wrote.

“Should Dave Aranda or Sonny Dykes falter, I think Baylor and TCU would look hard at Fisher as well…”

Old school coaches have had their day in the sun. Most of them have been unable to transition to the modern college football landscape and those, like Sonny, who have are mediocre at best. No more going after old war horses.
