Donati's intro presser in Columbia:
He says a number of nice things about TCU starting at the 11:00 mark. He also closes with appreciation for Chris del Conte.
One interesting response was to a question at 24:00 about whether the change from a large metro area to a smaller "more focused area" with a strong local alumni base offered advantages. He said, "Maybe. We'll see," before talking about the benefit of strong local alumni support. You could see in his eyes a flash of things not said: "Do you think it'll be easier to convince coaching candidates to bring their families to a provincial town without world-class culture and amenities? Do you think it will be easier for coaches to recruit here instead of a major metro area? Do you think it will be easier to negotiate NIL deals in a small town with limited corporate presence? To set up schedules in a hard-to-get-to-place vs. a city with great transportation links, where every opponent wants to travel? Maybe. We'll see."
It's a fine school and a good job, with a large alumni base and local support, but that was kind of an odd question.
