Sonny, Please say goodbye to Briles

It did not only work because they had 7 weeks to install. I think it is possible maybe probable that Baylor had practiced "triage" situations in Fall camp/Spring where they spent time on the abandon pass game go with former QB as Jamielle Holloway wannabe.

My memory is hazy but I think the Baylor QB went down with a spine injury in early November. Baylor had a RS freshman Jarrett Stidham that many had as NFL Caliber and is currently playing in the NFL unlike most other B12 QBs. The Bravado by the Briles was off the hook and he turned into a robot by thanksgiving. I really do not think Baylor was installing run-oriented offense on the 1st of November (7 Weeks) . Once Baylor realized Stidham wasn't on function after TCU and UT beat them 11-25 to 11-29 is when they installed. So the Bears probably had 4-6 weeks max to install. You and I are splinting mice hairs but TCU has a similar opportunity today to install a package today.

I suggested on 3-4 occasions in August/ September that Nate Palmer, Jeremy Payne and K Barnes practice a hybrid Wishbone. I received ZERO replies and a few chuckles. Run this package on 3-4 series to throw coverages off and skew coverage angles on WRs. BTW where is Jordan Dwyer? Sprinkle this in and watch.
Didn’t Stidham play Stephenville not long after Briles?

I made this chart to show were we are in the conference statistically. These are for Big 12 conference games only. We're in the bottom half of the conference in 17 of 30 categories. These probably won't come as a surprise overall, but the defense is probably worse than most think. We are dead last in 5 categories. We are averaging .8 yards per punt return, if anyone was wondering.

Glad for the confirmation of how bad TCU's defense has been on 3rd and 4th down. I have developed a deep Pavlovian fear of the 3rd-down siren. Like Pavlov himself is about to appear and reward our opponent with a treat for converting another 3rd and long.

Even worse is giving up 10 on 3rd-and-11, prolonging the agony of the inevitable conversion.

He's getting paid to be an NFL QB but playing is a stretch. He hasn't thrown a pass since 2023. Great gig if you can get it!
We should start a thread " most questionable backup QBs in NFL History" I don't think Stidham is in top there. There are some doozies. Stidham's last contract with Broncos 2 years 10 million. Chase Daniels who was pretty good at Missouri played 14 years on 2-3 million a year contracts.

Original post regarding Stidham is that he was so bad at the end of 2015, Baylor staff had to do a 180 in offensive philosophy for the Bowl game with a hard core run centric game plan. Baylor rushed for 645 yards, it has to be somewhere in the record books and Briles Jr was a witness or had direct or indirect input.

I bet if the coaches looked at all the "I can't believe our dumbass OC stopped giving the ball to Barnes" crap on here, they'd wonder whether people even watch the games, or figure we've got some of the dumbest fans on the planet.
And they would be correct in that assessment...

We have to be dead last in false start penalties...at home.

Co-Offensive coordinator Ricker needs to face the music. Please at least answer questions to the kitten FTW media. The boy has not answered a question in front of cameras for half a decade or more. I will not post online statements what I would not be willing to say to a person in person.
Mr. Ricker WADR ( With all Due Respect) what drills are you going with to discipline your OL to recognize cadence in order to avoid false starts?
Mr Ricker. How many times have you called these Offensive lineman into your office?? IOW called the kids into your office to discuss F'ups, missed assignments, and the big mans needs?

Mr Ricker, you are the Co-offensive coordinator. What are you doing to improve YPC in the rushing offense?

Mr Ricker, Your TCU offense has one of the lowest time of possessions in the country. Is there a moment in time where you have a need to course correct??

I knew he was a fraud 2 years ago. It couldn’t be more obvious how much of a weak spot he is on this staff. They had to bring in an assistant to help him coach the OL. Says it all.

Thought Briles started with very good plays calls. Then he puts us behind the chains with a stupid 1st down play calls on the last sequence of the last possession.

I am so fuxking mad I can hardly stand it. Can’t even enjoy beating Baylor.
We seem to be doing everything the hard way. We’re lucky to hang on to win this game. Give Baylor one more minute and they could have won by 1 point. Where have we heard that before.

Coaches need to go have a bonehead session and take a hard look at themselves because there was plenty of bonehead out there in the 4th quarter.

In nearly 6 decades watching TCU football I’ve seen a lot of BAD football. But have never seen anything more STUPID than that. I was nearly to the point that I wished Baylor had won so we could (hopefully) just rip the Briles bandaid off and be done with him. But then Dykes had to know the play call and situation too. Guess he could go too.
