What are the thoughts out there on this?
I'd say there are three possibilities.
1). Life resumes to normal(ish) by fall. Games as scheduled with full attendance.
2). Games as scheduled. Broadcast on television but limited / no fans allowed.
3). No games.
In order of likelihood, I would say 2,3,1, but none out of the realm of possibility.
What happens with the money if there is no season?
If we're not playing football by September, we're in a heap of trouble in this country. That means things are still in bad shape, and we can't keep what we're doing indefinitely.
Odds are roughly 3125/0
Exactly, if things aren’t better by fall and things are still shut down we won’t be laughing at the prepers, people living in armed compound or nuke shelters, because it is going to turn into a bad apocalypse movie around the world...
A possibility is that we could have an utterly miserable 2020/2021 winter, and that's what it takes for herd immunity (or whatever people that know what they are talking about call it) to more or less kick in as it apparently did for the awful flu during that period, and that health-wise we move on by '21/22.
Are you talking ... Lock and Load ?
I was typing...
Vaccine should be approved by Summer.
So many survivors by July, Tom Hanks Category, that the population of "at risk" people will be low and manageable.
China already there.
If this stuff is still going on by fall, I'm putting my money on the TCU rifle team.
Really...by summer? I must tell this to the researchers over in the Pasteur division who said just last week that the average time for vaccine approval by the FDA is 10 years and the fastest it could be done for approval by the FDA is 14 months. And that’s with every regulation reduced or eliminated and truncated trials with no failures. Can they DM you?
97.7% that we’ll have NCAA football
We might have another Civil War if the college football season is cancelled.
i would think it starts with when campuses open back up
cool--then tell that to the President to shut up about it happening so fast and be realistic with the American public
Did he say vaccine approved by summer or being in the pipeline and tested? If he said vaccine approved by summer then he’ll have to turn the FDA upside down which wouldn’t be altogether a bad thing.
If this thing comes back in the fall, testing, meds to counter, etc. will by lightyears from where they are for it now. It will be a whole different story.
So, yes, football will happen. My bigger question is who has the drop off from lack of spring drills?
Will the NCAA allow them to have extra practice in the summer? Summer1 , then off a month, then Summer2.
