Whose midnite? Or is it a rolling end of the world?
Considering the day I had, I'm not ready to concede the fact that the world did not end this morning.Nope. We have solsticed and the days, they are a-gettin' longer.

And if the days get longer than today, I might wish it had ended.

Let's say that at precisely 5:12am CST (the Yucatan peninsula, home of the Maya, is in the same time zone as we are), time abruptly stopped.

The Mayan homeland is far larger than just Yucatan. The Maya inhabit much of the southern Mexican states of Yucatan, Campeche, Quintana Roo, and Chiapas, as well as all of Guatemala and Belize and parts of Honduras and El Salvador. Historically, the heart of Mayan territory was Guatemala, though the largest Mayan population today is in Yucatan.
