We haven't heard one word about how he's been performing in practice this year.

I think that tell us everything we need to know.

I think Casey wins the job next season, Boykin backs him up, and then Boykin and Matthews battle it out in 2014.

Boykin's very young and inexperienced, he will drastically improve over the coming seasons

How much did we hear about Pachall in practice?I remember going to the spring game of 2011 and being so surprised at how good Pachall was because I hadn't really heard that much about his performance in practice.

But maybe that was just me, I wasn't on KFC as much back then.

Some things will get better with age and experience, but im not sure some flaws can 'be fixed'

I keep seeing these type of comments from posters.I hope you all are correct, but I am not sure what this absolute certainty of improvement is based upon?Major throwing motion flaw needs to be changed.Maybe it can be fixed.maybe it can't?Time will tell I suppose. At least when Dalton was young,he didn't need a major throwing motion overhaul.

They weren't ever going to burn his redshirt on this season unless he was the only one left that could take a snap. You don't ever hear much about the 3rd string QB running the scout team. We will hear a lot more in the spring.

Why didnt Brown come in for one series at least? I mean dang, they had Bell throw the ball out of the wildcat in a crucial drive....

It's based on the fact that I understand how hard the QB position is to learn. He's a freshman and playing behind an OL that couldn't pass block with a banged up RB corp

I don't think his mechanics have anything to do with his struggles this year.

Because he can't throw it as far as Bell.

Feisty, as the resident recruiting guy, was it just a big-time miss on Brown by recruiting sites or what? I remember him coming out and many acting like this was a HUGE commit. Some even kept arguing for him to start over Pachall for a time there. Now it appears that he can't even beat out a paper bag to get some playing time at qb.

I hope you are right but im not that optimistic. For the most part, his pass protection wasnt that bad last night.

He will improve in the off-season but he slung a few that missed targets badly. A lot to look forward to with this team and his development is one of them. Pachall will help him a lot.

Not sure they felt he would stay at QB but wanted him to get a shot there first. Circumstances beyond their control forced him back to the position but he is a very good athlete, just not a QB that can take you very far. Hopefully they will get to use him in a more natural position for him next year but not sure they are comfortable enough yet. Will see in the spring.
