SMU RB averaging over 7 yards per carry

Checked the stats and apparently their number 1 running back is averaging over 7 yards per carry. Plus they have that young qb who can run who is averaging over 6 yards everytime he runs.

As a team they are averaging 4.7 yards per rush apparently. That said, BYU dropped SMU’s average to 3.3 when they played so their run game ability may be over inflated by playing Nevada and Houston Christian.

Either way, the running game by both teams is where this game will likely be decided I’m thinking.

Against Nevada, SMU had 34 carries for 100 yards.
Against BYU, SMU had 36 carries for 117 yards.
Against FBS teams SMU is 70 carries for 217 yds and 2 fumbles.

Not sure why, but that really doesn’t worry me.
As I said, may be overinflated. BYU shut them down.

But thus far, we don’t have a running game whatsoever. If SMU is able to do what UCF did, then you should be a little worried.

Unlike UCF, SMU can't play bullyball against us or anyone. Key is to stop them in short yardage. But they are going to attack our secondary, especially the CBs. Curious to see how the D responds and what adjustments the DC makes.

Jennings is barely a 50% thrower against FBS and only has a 5.2 yd avg.
Their run game is 3.0 yds and a cloud of dust.
TCU just needs take care of business and stay away from the social media crap storm surrounding this game. Thank goodness 2025 is the last of this.

Jennings is starting...their backup? Other guy get hurt?

This is what we need. Another warm-up game to iron out everything. Not saying completely easy but we have more depth and talent.

We get the W but more importantly get more reps for remaining season. We are not done yet. Have expanded CFP.

TCU does not have a running game! Almost 90% of the total yardage last night was passing yards( with a 21 point lead at one point).

Stone broke his fibula last year and missed a big portion of the season.
His comeback has been less than spectacular. He no longer seems very mobile, which is why Jennings has been used for the most part.

Yeah but we honestly don’t know if our run defense resembles more Nevada/BYU or the FBS teams at the moment. (Yes that’s overreaction Sunday.)

2 mediocre teams going at it for the last time Saturday, at least anytime soon it seems. SMEW was definitely over hoped in off season. Frogs can very well win this game. Frogs can very well lose this game. Will be probably hot again, though not over a 100 like last time in Dallas.

PSA to Frog Fans going to Dallas Saturday, load up on lots of water before you get to the stadium!

Going to run it and wear them out. They don't have the size or depth to maintain 4qtrs

They need to adjust #13 to the bench…

Brashard has been a pleasant surprise this season but he's not a every down workhouse back.

Had 12 carries vs Nevada (and sat most of the fourth) and 14 vs BYU.

Sounds like Jaylan Knighton will be out for us on Saturday. The hope is that LJ Johnson is back.
