TCU almuna Annika Clark and Emmy Martin are keeping their professional golf dreams alive. Both got starts on the Symetra Tour this past weekend at its Founders' Tribute tournament in Mesa, AZ, and both played well. Clark finished T11 at -7, earning $2,125. She shot 69-68 on the weekend rounds.

Martin missed the 36-hole cut by one stroke at +1. She will have another chance at this week's Symetra Tour stop in Beaumont, CA.

Both players are in Category N of the Symetra Tour's priority list (those not advancing beyond Stage 1 in the qualifying tourney). Martin is the 290th player on the priority list and Clark the 311th. I don't see Clark registered for this week's event, which is too bad. On most tours, top 10 from the prior week get automatic entry into the next event; if so, a bit of a bummer to finish one shot out of that group.

Angela Stanford followed up a quiet T15 at the AIG Women's (British) Open last week with a T3 finish at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship yesterday. She shot 66-66-65 with just a single bogey over 54 holes. She finished four back of winner Austin Ernst and banked 129K. She may have her eye on being a playing co-captain for the Solheim Cup--she sits 13th on the U.S. points list.

Oh, yeah -- David Ravetto won the English Men's Open Amateur a week ago. Great story on GoFrogs about his sleeping in the trunk of his car after making a quick trip from France to beat the clock on quarantine regulations. He won with back-to-back birdies in a three-man playoff.

Ravetto also made the Round of 16 in the British Amateur, pushing his World Amateur Golf Ranking up to 28. Congrats, David!
