SI: Jacoby Jackson Chooses TCU Over Duke

Three-star offensive tackle Jacoby Jackson announced that he would play for the TCU Horned Frogs in college. The 6-foot-6, 320-pounder from Arlington, Texas’ Mansfield Summit decided to follow his father, Cedric Jackson, who played running back for TCU during his playing days.

The decision also dealt Duke another setback as the Blue Devils look to add to their offensive line in the class of 2021.

Duke offered Jackson at the end of April.

Jackson is the No. 965 recruit in the class, according to 247Sports. He’s the No. 92 offensive tackle. In addition to football, he also does throwing events for the Mansfield Summit track & field team.

Jackson is an awesome pickup. He’s got a lot of tools that will help us down the road.

I’m blown away how OTs are like gold right now...It’s CFB Recruitment equivalent of a Left Handed pitcher or a 7footer in 80’s hoops. D1 offers are going out to almost any kid with an OT frame regardless of how good he is or isn’t. Many P5 teams seem to be littered with big frame 3-4 year projects in the OL. If you can find a a kid who can really be ready to play by his RSSoph year, you generally have a star on your hands

The good news for TCU has a really nice pipeline of OL pieces to grow up. As good as anyone in the league outside of maybe OK. Its the one position that we are even giving UT a recruiting run for their money.
