"Thanksgiving football was supposed to be all about the Texas Longhorns, but TCU went into Austin and spoiled the holiday."

"So impressed were some with the Patterson-led team’s effort, the suggestion of Patterson replacing Mack Brown at UT was floated via Burnt Orange Nation."

"Coaches leave lower level programs when there’s little left for them to accomplish there. The perception that TCU is lower level is antiquated — this is a program in the Big 12 now, after all — but more to the point, there’s so much more for Patterson to accomplish there."

I liked the intent of the article, the execution was a bit rough and dropped off a cliff when I stumbled upon this part....

I know we didn't exactly hold our own against them, but it wasn't THAT bad!

So this idiot knew we'd played them for 74 years straight, and couldn't even get the number of wins correct.

If all you did was watch the broadcast, you would come away thinking that we won against them in 1967 (mentioned about 20 times) and then last night.

He also said in the linked article about GP going to Arkansas that our stadium was "undergoing" an upgrade. He might want to check that out as well. However, the sentiments expressed were at least accurate.

And he says it with such conviction as if it was a well known fact. These journalists must be using the internet for their source but what in the hell are they looking at?

No mention of the tidal waves in college football that swelled against schools like TCU, that we weathered, btw, over the years.

Up until the early 60's we were very competitive. Then came the platoon era, and we were late to that party. Then came 'meat on the hoof (or hook, depending upon who's telling it), and we suffered in that era, because we were starved of talent (so sad). We suffered through some on field tragedies that significantly affected our football program (coach and player). When scholly limits occurred, we got 2nd pickings and our 2's and 3's just were not as good. Then the SWC got caught cheating, and SMU and TCU took the brunt of the punishment.

The end of the SWC is well-documented. Less documented is our co-championship the year before it dissolved, and our victory over taxes in 1992.

We started over, at the bottom. The rest is well known.
