The Spartans are considering using the redshirt freshman as a two-way player against the Horned Frogs later this month.

Michigan State redshirt freshman Lawrence Thomas could potentially play both offense and defense for the Spartans in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl later this month, Mike Griffith of MLive writes. The reason this is semi newsworthy is that he came is as a 5* recruit.... and because of the depth in the D-line/LB core we have struggled to find a position for him to play (thru no fault of his) so they were looking at using him as a FB, and TE just to get him on the field....

have to say I am really looking forward to finally seeing him playing D again, the kid is special!
