Traditionally bowls have the option to select teams with an equal number of wins, or even a team with one fewer win. It isn't a straight selection order; if it was, there wouldn't be the annual game of predicting who is going where.

This is why UT and OU (and schools like them) have historically received better bowls. It's entirely possible that Tech travels better than us to lesser bowl games (vs. NY6 etc.).

I mean, there are multiple public reports of TCU saying this isn't true, as opposed to a few people implying that Jeremy said he heard something.

The only thing that I've ACTUALLY physically seen in this thread are the former.

So I see two theories: Dykes and TCU let our outgoing AD make the decision (on his own, with no input from or awareness of others) for us to decline a better bowl, or the Liberty Bowl did what they are allowed to do and selected a team with the same number of wins.

I’m curious, how does that work? Do any/all opt outs have to declare now & forego practice to allow underclass to compete & play? Or is it all honor system?

TCU media puppets being fed a script is a huge indication TCU up and is poorly conducting damage control

Need an external AD 100% now

^^^ I believe this is true. As I pointed out in another thread, ST's Steven Johnson attributed comment from TCU to an unnamed spokesperson. Why? Why can't someone put their name on that statement? Was it Cohen? The interim AD? The hell's going on? Too much smoke here for me to believe that TCU was simply passed over.

A couple of thoughts.

As people have said if we did indeed decline, no one would ever admit it. Especially, after everybody skipped us over (don’t think that wouldn’t be intentional)

Even we didn’t decline an invitation, our AD was too busy looking for another job to make sure we got our rightful place.
