Football: TCU WR Eric McAlister declares for 2026 NFL Draft

The All-Big 12 First Team player went for nearly 1,200 yards this season.

by Russell Hodges

TCU redshirt senior wide receiver Eric McAlister turned in one of the best seasons for a wideout in school history, reeling in 72 catches for 1,190 yards and 10 touchdowns to earn All-Big 12 First Team recognition. McAlister will now turn his attention to his professional career, with the Azle, Texas native announcing Monday that he will be entering the 2026 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-3, 205-pounder spent two years with the Horned Frogs, catching 39 passes for 762 yards and five scores in 2024. McAlister, who averaged 17.6 yards per catch in his time at TCU, was a Biletnikoff Award semifinalist and an All-American by the Associated Press this season.

Incredibly incredibly underrated this season. Our previous stars (Doctson, Reagor, Johnston) commanded national attention and were focal points of the team, while McCalister quietly amassed the among the best receiving seasons in TCU season. Workmanlike.

Best of luck to him at the next level.

TCU would have been outmatched without McAlister and others choosing to play in the Alamo bowl. His play during the season speaks for itself but playing in the bowl game shows his character as a teammate/frog factor. Hopefully he makes it in the NFL.
He did more than just play- he made it a stake in ground game for Ken Seals and the entire Azle / Weatherford community. I understand that Eric has had an agent all season - it’s been known all along he is expected to be a top draft pick. He’s tough and good at shaking off injury dings- durable.

He’s also out eligibility so this is the logical next step.
