Football: 2026 three-star prospect Zachary Hays commits to TCU

The Horned Frogs pick up one of the top specialists in the country.

The TCU Horned Frogs picked up a commitment from one of the top 2026 specialists in the country Sunday evening. Southlake Carroll defensive end and punter Zachary Hays, ranked a six-star punting prospect and a three-star overall prospect by 247Sports, announced his commitment to the Horned Frogs on social media. Hays ranks as the No. 8 punting prospect nationally, according to the 247Sports composite ratings system.

One of the greatest kid's items you could ever get in the 70's. Pretty sure I ran thousands of routes in the backyard growing up.
Agreed, great toy. And the danger of maiming your fingers in the arm mechanism made you pay attention to the attention to detail it takes to run a good dig route.

Lawn darts offered a similar opportunity to learn a useful skillset, with a comparable level of danger (which as kids of our generation knew, was a big part of the fun). Though perhaps a little moreso, especially when me and my friends would just launch them at each other.
