2025-26 TCU Women’s Basketball Season Preview
Donovyn Hunter is a key returning player for a TCU team that reached the Elite Eight last season.
Russell HodgesThe 2024-25 season was special for the TCU Horned Frogs, who went 34-4 and advanced to the Elite Eight for the first time in program history. Behind a trio of stellar players, including All-American guard Hailey Van Lith as well as All-Big 12 honorees Sedona Prince and Madison Conner, TCU won all 21 of its home games and went 16-2 in the conference, winning both the Big 12 regular season and tournament championships in the team’s second season under head coach Mark Campbell. Campbell earned accolades as well, winning Big 12 Coach of the Year.
With one week remaining until the Horned Frogs tip off the 2025-26 season, we’ll take a look at both the new and returning players at the guard, forward and center positions. TCU will begin the season with a home matchup against North Carolina A&T at Schollmaier Arena. Beginning with the guard position, TCU has key veterans back including junior Donovyn Hunter (5.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists), redshirt senior Taylor Bigby (5.9 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists) and graduate student Maddie Scherr, who missed all of last season to a back injury after transferring in from Kentucky, where she averaged 12.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 2023-24.
