I met him about 20 years ago when I sold him some tickets that I could not use. He was a very likeable guy and I enjoyed meeting him. RIP good sir.

I never met him in person, but I remember while I was a student at TCU a decade ago him posting on here that if any of us ever were too drunk to drive home from a game we could come to his truck and he'd make sure we were safe. Seemed like an awesome dude. Hope to party with him in the next place. Prayers.
Found in his bed Wednesday morning. There are worse ways to go!

Steel first met JCS in 1994 and over the years enjoyed many TCU events with him, including his famous tailgate; being one of the first purchasers from him of his Hell's Half Acre line of apparel (which he personally brought to Steel's office, a pleasant surprise!); having cases with and against him (always completely above-board dealings); "meetings" at the Pea; exchanging messages with him on his many trips to Alaska and the tropics.

Don, I know he was a close friend of yours and I feel for you. This is an unexpected loss.

John drank deeply from the well of life and was an unfailingly positive influence wherever he was. Just a good dude. The world is diminished by his passing.

I am stunned. He was just talking about last week's tailgate on the board.

I called him once about a matter, the details of which I have since forgotten, but he was helpful and informative.

We've lost a great horned frog.

RIP Froglaw

FROGLAW was buried this morning in a small private service in Dallas.

Here are the details for the memorial service October 19th:

The funeral will be on October 19 10:30 am at Monica Park church in Garland.
After will be a cook out at the church and tables set up with tributes and memorabilia.
Everyone is asked to wear Purple.

In lieu of flowers, and due to John’s love for TCU, family is requesting making a payment to the TCU scholarship Fund. Link is below.
