Surprised at how many Texans play for Montana St. Go Bearkats!
Yep. I'm always amazed when watching other conferences games, how many players are from TX, and for that matter how many are from the metroplex.

SHSU won't be competing in a playoff in the near future. They, along with Lamar and App St will eventually be part of the Sun Belt.

Truph. University of North Texas moved up into obscurity. They'd dominate FCS right now. Instead, SHSU has gotten more exposure in an hour and a half than University of North Texas has gotten in several years total.

I've been watching off and on so I'm not sure if they've mentioned it, but SHSU's QB is the little brother of former Baylor QB, Shawn Bell, whom we beat in Waco along with former Heisman front runner C.J. Wilson. I went to school with Shawn in our younger years and he and his family are great people. Definitely pulling for SHSU.

Louisiana - Monroe & Louisiana - Lafayette were very successful in D1-AA.
Not so much for at least the first few years of FBS.

Nah, SFA has Chief Caddo, so it's all good.
Having never really been a traditional face-to-face student at SFA, I don't really know the rivalries very well. I've never attended a sportin event at SFA. I know the SHSU people are awfully uppity.

UMass moved to the MAC and won one game this year.... It's a tough process....

Marshall was the exception straight from 1-AA powerhouse to MAC champions. UCONN has done okay of course going straight into a B$C conference helped. UTSA 8-4 their first year in FBS with 40k plus crowds and SA fully behind the program seems to be on their way too.
