I think I found Killer Frogs in the early 90’s. Used to piss off my ex wife because I spent so much time on it - part of why she’s my ex! I read more than I posted initially but I have been associated with TCU since 1959 thanks to my Dad so I know more of the history than most in here. My fellow alums started calling me because of the inside scoop I had on all things going on at TCU thanks to this forum. The years of RodDog and that “I Sniff Male Bottoms” dude. And Coach was the best! I’ve spent holidays - Xmas morning with Top Frog online and nobody else around. A lot of excellent PM’s and appreciate all of the years of friendship from Scott and Wes and all of the Killer Frogs family! See you all at Paris Coffee Shop!

Yeah, we used to have to rely on FWST or TCU Magazine for news. It was always days, weeks, months after the fact. Especially for us out of towners.
Now, it is almost instantaneous.
I remember learning about the Bookstore fire AS IT HAPPENED while in Kuwait. Later emailed relatives in States asking about damage amounts.

What fire?! They all said.

I retired in the mid-1990's just as computers were really blossoming, used that company that had black and white spotted cows as their id, "you've got mail" was emerging, and lo, there was a way to keep up with Frog stuff. I've changed names a time or two because of computer failure, but as a 94-year-old TCU class of 1951 product, thank the Lord for Killer'frogs. Now if I can just make it 33 more days!
94??? Wow! At 77 makes me feel like I'm 60 again .........Congrats.

Been “lowering my school then work productivity“ since I was a student in the late 90s. Iirc I signed up in 1998… maybe? [Checks notes… ] Nearly 30 years ago?

Damn.

I was there. The Wednesday night chat, called the "Bob Room" was always entertaining. I wish I had transcripts of some of those sessions. Wes is who actually gave me my handle.
That's where I first "met" Wes and others including you. I was a junior in high school at the time, maybe even a sophomore. Probably joined Don's site back in 1997. I've been around since the early days but seldom post.

First posted in 1999.. first time to ever be in a chat room, my very first post was roasted by Steel (now consider myself part of an esteemed group). Wes and Scott were just great people, enjoyed my time with them, both perfect moderators. As brutal as this board can be at times, it is also full of wit, humor and insight to all things TCU. Just as Wes and Scott intended…

See you in Chapel Hill!

Go Frogs!

Who was on the pre-Killerfrogs Frog Fan Forum and chat room back in the 90's?

I got my AOL membership and got on Don's site. Still remember logging on to my dial-up: "wee-ohn, wee-ohn, sssssss, wee-ohn, wee-ohn ... You've got mail!".

The chat room was a hoot! Wes (Tired of Frank) had many aliases, including Leonard Smalls, and would stir up trouble. Tired of Frank, Traditionalist, White Wolf, Toad Trailer, etc. would get Old Rip all riled up. Wes said we just missed out on signing a Nigerian basketball star, Klaatu Nikto. And so on.

At 77, I am one of the oldest of that original group still around. Who else of that group is still out there?
There are some names have not heard in awhile. I was not on board till 2001 and there were lots of WW, Gunner, Shooter, Arkafrog (preScott), Froglaw, others back in those days. Sad part is they are not here because they quit.

The fact you are signed in and made a post is impressive. Hopefully my life will be enriched one day if we ever cross!
