The Menger would be my choice. However, if we go I'll be staying in Bandera or New Braunfels. BTW, whatever happended with all the criticism of that guy Derrick Fox? Wasn't there a dust up over the amount of raised money that actually went to charitable causes?

The Menger is nice, we stayed there this summer during my son's birthday party, I just hope your significant other isn't a superstitious person.

Is that you Cuban? It is a river you know, its not the Hurricane Harbor lazy float that you might be accustomed to.

I've always wanted to do that lazy river thing. Looks like fun. Yeah I know that gully winding below the streets of San Antone is called a river. With concrete banks and base, flood locks, and regular chemical treatments so it doesn't smell too bad for the straunts that line it, and the constant tourist boats that ply its length using gas/oil motors.

Remember as a kid, seeing fish in the old part of the riverwalk by Casa Rio and La Mansion. Water was bit clearer then.

As of a month ago, the fish were in abundance there. Just drop a chip in the water and the fish will come up from below, the ducks will gather at the surface, and the birds will double check to see if any lands ashore...looks like rush hour.

I was at a conference or somesuch years ago. We stayed at the Munger, and my room (out of 10 or so in our group) was not ready. Much hand-wringing occurred, then they decided to put me in the Presidential Suite (because we were just there one night). As they were slap typing the change on the computer, the front desk lady told me that the Reverend Jesse Jackson had stayed in the suite the night before. Weird. Made me wonder, if these walls could talk...
