Recruiting

In my opinion the DL postion is what separates average teams from elite teams. Before TCU was in the Big 12 they had a history of getting the big time DL recruit. Brandon Johnson, Schobel brothers, Devonte Fields and so on. Of course many said TCU recruiting would get better once in the big 12. The reality is that TCU fans are just happy to have a TCU cap on a table Manning is sitting at when he decides to go with aggie. Not saying I like it.

We are not the only one that lost Manning. Offensive minded Texas A&M now has 5 DTs in its class. Four of them OU offered and Sooners are still without a DT commit. You would think one of them would go to a team that is in a BCS game every other year, especially since A&M hasn't been to a BCS bowl game in a very long time...but they have Manziel the offensive weapon and they play Alabama.

I'm sure A&M will be taking on some of the traditions of the SEC soon:

Current SEC Football teams on probation: Tennessee and South Carolina.

Number of Times SEC Schools have been Given Major NCAA Penalties Since 1995:

Alabama – 3 (2009, 2002, 1995)
Mississippi State – 2 (2004, 1996)
South Carolina – 2 (2012, 2005)
Tennessee – 1 (2012)
LSU – 1 (2011)
Arkansas -1 (2003)
Kentucky – 1 (2002)
Georgia – 1 (1997)
Auburn – coming soon in 2012 or 2013

Number of Years on NCAA Probation Since 1995 (includes future years for penalties ongoing)

Alabama – 7 years
South Carolina – 6 years
Mississippi State – 5 years
Kentucky – 3 years
Arkansas – 3 years
Tennessee – 2 years
Georgia – 2 years
LSU – 1 year
Auburn – unkown but coming soon

Good Post. There is no love loss for aggie. Funny, about the only time they had success in football was when they paid players. Just sayin.

No offense to Brandon Johnson...but I had to Google "Google me, bro"...I had to Google Brandon Johnson just to refresh myself with him.
