Give Dykes credit, he is willing to make changes in his staff when they are not doing their job. That's what get head coaches fired. Those who keep stale assistants around.

Committed: Caris Sela RB 6’-0 190 lbs out of Justin, Tx. and is a top 10 rusher in Texas 6a. : 4.46 40 time.

Sela had 1,930 total yards as a junior, including 1,670 rushing yards and 261 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns.

Yes, he has been a silent commit to TCU for a while now, but when TCU signed a 2nd WR, Braylon Deal, his family became upset and balked on the commit.
It’s a shame he’s not willing to compete for his position. I guess 3 is a crowd in his mind. However, I’d much rather have a great two way athlete like Braylon Deal (WR, QB, DS).

The Big Ten Network would certainly value adding the No. 4 media market in the country, but the bigger prize is establishing a meaningful presence in Texas for recruiting. Among the major top 7 football conferences, the Big Ten is the only one without a foothold in Texas.

Big Ten schools would welcome the opportunity to play in Texas on a regular basis, and let's be honest—they would much rather do so in the Dallas-Fort Worth area than in Lubbock or Waco.

When the time comes for the Big Ten to evaluate future expansion opportunities in two or three years, our goal should be to present the strongest possible case. That means becoming a perennial Top 25 football program, earning one or two College Football Playoff appearances, and consistently competing in the NCAA Tournament. On the academic side, we will likely need to be near R1 status to be seriously considered.

Ultimately, we cannot control which institutions the Big Ten chooses. What we can control is how compelling our candidacy becomes. Achieving those goals will require a total team effort across the university, but I firmly believe we can get there.
