This is where I come out on this. How many other schools with fewer than 100k alumni are locks to be added to the BIG/SEC? Notre dame is it. I recall Rutgers and Maryland being added to the BIG because their network received some financial value per TV subscriber in those regions justifying their inclusion. That is an outlier and not the norm for schools that are making moves - think UT/OU/MIZ/Oregon etc. these are large state universities looking to maximize revenue and hit new NIL highs to fund competitive/championship level programs. Notre dame and USC are altogether different though due to a century of blue blood status.

Love TCU but we’re kidding ourselves just assuming that we get picked up because the school is located in a metro area that we don’t come close to dominating. Our best hope appears to be the ACC imploding and the Big 12 snagging leftovers. That would grant the league a few extra playoff spots and increased TV payouts. It likely would stabilize things for 1-2 decades before the BIG/SEC break off and do whatever they want.

And lastly - go watch Georgia vs. Florida or Oregon vs. Penn state - do our players look much like those guys? Does our stadium atmosphere resemble anything like that? How many big 12 players are taken in the first round of the NFL draft? It sucks but we are falling behind and theres no indication that it will change.

The SeC has gladiators and physical world beaters. TCU had collective "world beaters" and Bonafide gladiators during the Rose Bowl run and Peach Bowl run. Guys that truly wanted to hurt the opponent. The Deputy Dogs of the TCU ether has let it drift back into severe mediocrity.

Question ?? how many times has TCU eclipsed 40 sacks in a season. For comparison Utah racked up 55 in 2024. If a goal of 30,40,50 sacks for the season is not minimally achieved, then what is TCU doin???

The Big Ten Network would certainly value adding the No. 4 media market in the country, but the bigger prize is establishing a meaningful presence in Texas for recruiting. Among the major top 7 football conferences, the Big Ten is the only one without a foothold in Texas.

Big Ten schools would welcome the opportunity to play in Texas on a regular basis, and let's be honest—they would much rather do so in the Dallas-Fort Worth area than in Lubbock or Waco.

When the time comes for the Big Ten to evaluate future expansion opportunities in two or three years, our goal should be to present the strongest possible case. That means becoming a perennial Top 25 football program, earning one or two College Football Playoff appearances, and consistently competing in the NCAA Tournament. On the academic side, we will likely need to be near R1 status to be seriously considered.

Ultimately, we cannot control which institutions the Big Ten chooses. What we can control is how compelling our candidacy becomes. Achieving those goals will require a total team effort across the university, but I firmly believe we can get there.

I am so tired of all the beat down talk. Take it else where guys. Good pick up with Deal which is what this recruiting site is about.

The TCU 2027 recruiting class is much better than the currently graded and “ungraded“ commits. Many of those players are actually in the upper 80s.
Also TCU is still very much in the mix for at least 5 more highly graded prospects that I know of, and I’m sure there are even more.
The current low ranked Frogs class is not to be blamed on the Frogs, it’s to be blamed on the crappy rating services. TCU is actually doing quite well!!

Agree that those who think SMU or TCU will "deliver the DFW market" to the Big 10 or any other conference for that matter are pretty delusional.

I live 40 minutes from campus and TCU is at least 5th in terms of media coverage here behind UT, A&M, Tech, and SMU. And we are probably 6th behind OU right with Baylor. I understand that in FW it a difference but still, most people outside of this region don't even know where TCU is.

I think your last sentence is a bit harsh. I live in the midwest and trust me TCU is the talk of our town and few other midwest towns. If that is the vibe here I find it hard to believe its that much worse closer to home.

The commitment earlier today of Daniel Yebit **** a really big 6’-3 190 lb corner (#16 CB) from Yukon, Ok was outstanding. He’s also a very good WR.
Hopefully Jaiden Fields 6’-0 185 S will commit this weekend on his OV, we have a very good shot.
I believe we also have a really good chance to land Brody Knowles 6’-4 200 WR and Jaden Bayonne 6’-4 280 DL.
All are highly rated.

I stand corrected because I pulled the 55 sacks stat off of Fansided.

You pick at one of the 3-4 points without noting something insightful like the drop off in sacs for TCU over the last 5-6 years.

Check out TCU sacks last year. Do us all a favor and comment on that.

Reading all the comments about DFW as a recruiting base makes me wonder: Does having a league member here even matter to B10 or SEC? The SEC already plays 2 games here, what’s to stop them or B10 from playing more games here? Especially if say, UCLA or USC vs Michigan or OSU? Neutral site, halfway between? It’s just such a weird new world, I wonder which of the old paradigms even matters going forward.

Linkin Apana (Edge/LB 86 grade) is taking a visit to Utah this weekend and will vey likely announce a commitment somewhere this weekend.
Linkin has publicly said TCU is his #1 right now, and he has visited TCU’s campus 3 times that I know of.
Linkin had a knee injury in his junior year; otherwise, he would be graded much higher. He is the #4 player In Hawai.
“I’m excited to visit TCU,” Apana said. “I went to a Spring practice in March and also a game last season and I’m really comfortable there and like the staff a lot. I’ve been building a relationship with them for over a year now.
Not only is TCU high on the list, Apana said the plan was to likely commit on the trip this weekend. Utah has now entered the picture and Apana has decided to hold off making an early decision.
Let’s hope he announces his commitment to TCU this weekend.

BTW the 82 grade on 6’-6 330 lb Alexander Herrera OT is an absolute joke. He has offers from Arizona St., Arky, BU, & SMU. When the senior files are updated in the fall he will be 86+ guaranteed.

Looks like 4 star DL Jaden Bayonne is leaning towards the SEC, which sucks.
However, Southlake Carroll’s leading WR Brody Knowles 6’-5 190 looks like a strong TCU lean. He has 20 P4 offers. Knowles announces June 22.

We also have at least a 50/50 chance with Hutto’s WR/SS Jaiden Fields 6’-1 190 with 4.4 40 speed. TCU is looking at him @ Safety and he will be here this weekend. He has 19 P4 offers.

Knowles, Fields, & Apana all look like pretty good TCU possibilities.

It was between TCU & Utah, the good guys pulled it out.

BRYCE BREEDEN is a very good LB out of Bridge City, Tx. He was on campus June 1st and had a great visit.
Bryce has 22 P4 offers.
He is at Arky this weekend, and will be announcing his commitment choice on June 26th. There is an excellent chance that will be TCU Frogs.

RONTRAE ”Shark” CARTER - Safety 6’-0 180 out of Louisiana is a top TCU recruit that was also on campus June 1st.

1st Team All State(2x) District 4A Defensive MVP (1x) 1st Team All District(3x)

Rontrae has 14 P4 offers and he loves TCU. There is an excellent chance he will commit in the next week.

JADEN BAYONNE out of Alexandria, Louisiana might be TCU’s #1 target! Bayonne was on campus May 29th, and he is the big bodied DL (6’-4 280) TCU needs to replace Markis Deal.
He has 13 P4 offers.
Not sure if we can pull him in, but it is very important that we do.

"TCU and Mississippi State are my top two," Bayonne said. "TCU is in contact with me every day. They feel like a real-life family. Coach J'Markus (McFarland) came and saw me at my house."
