What we've all been waiting for may be on the verge of coming to fruition, with the #Big12 finally getting in the game and blowing up

Greg Swaim Show ‏@GSwaim
Several schools who were less responsive to leaving now much more receptive to money (TV folks on board). #FSU #Clemson #GoCanes #GT

Sitting back waiting on this to happen, and finally looks like it's close with #Big12 raiding #ACC in a larger block than expected.

We'll have a story up over the weekend at http://GregSwaim.com as more details come in, but expect Bowslby to say more shortly. #Big12

This has zero to do with playoffs or even a CCG in the #Big12...all about TV money, I'm told.

Of #ACC schools who were reluctant, they have either seen handwriting on the wall or may be left out of the party.

Swaim is the worst source when it comes to realignment and sports, actually I don't think there are any credible sources.

I'm about to make some sweet tweets about the Big 12 taking 'Bama, Florida, Ohio State and Clemson.... make sure to post them here also.

This is pretty simple: Nobody should talk about any team leaving the ACC until Maryland exit fee is determined. That $50mm price tag is enough of a deterrent for anyone else to stay away until we know more.

Ya, probably correct statement here. BUT, this is the second source I've heard at least discussing the B12 heating up expansion talk. Ubben mentioned the B12 will discuss expansion at their meeting in Dallas this month. He added that "he didn't know what that really meant." He said that, per school, B12 pays the most. To qualify as an expansion target, the school would have to be really profitable. i.e., not Louisville, but maybe FSU. In any event, Bowlsby confirmed discussions will take place.

We'll see. I want expansion to happen.

You can argue with some of the particulars .....but not with the direction that college football is headed.

Too much smoke about the acc implosion for too long. They've got several problems but the biggest is they are just like the beast - leadership still doesn't get the fact that football, not basketball, drives the bus. And that makes them vulnerable.

from our friends in morgantown.......

Brett McMurphy is about the only fairly consistent credible source I've seen around realignment.

Yes, Brett is the only one who has been dead on or close to it. He has true sources and if anything was rumbling, the ACC is "owned" by ESPN and he would know right away.

However I do hope the rumor is true...I know Manti believes the rumor.

I kind of like what we have going with football right now, although I'm not opposed to expanding to add programs like those. Baseball in that conference would be pretty damn fun to watch.
