Quite a few ranked teams lost this week:

#10 Florida St
#11 Clemson
#15 Oregon St
#16 Texas :biggrin: :biggrin: :biggrin:
#17 UCLA
#18 Rutgers
#19 Michigan
#20 Louisville
#21 Oklahoma St
#24 Arizona
#25 Washington

^^^ That put together with beating Texas puts TCU... where? (if at all?)

I know we will find out anyway soon but what's the fun in that :tongue:

Should be. Especially with Washington losing to Leach's 2 win team, Louisville losing to below .500 UConn.

Who was it on here that wants Louisville in the Big XII? They bring nothing to the table especially after losing to UConn yesterday.

Could help, but I'm not holding my breath for it. Will defiintely receive a fair amount of votes at minimum but that's probably it. Maybe around 30ish.

If we beat OU Saturday, then don't see how we can't crack it then.

Maybe only 4 teams fall out, so it is mostly reshuffling. There are already over 4 teams in the already getting votes category in the coaches poll and voters rarely just jump someone over a bunch of others if they are not a "name" team.

In last weeks coaches poll there were sixteen teams in the "others receiving votes" category.....we had no votes in the poll.

The Texas win is going to get us a lot of consideration but we have a whole bunch of teams to jump to get to the top 25.

I don't think our poll position even matters until this time next week anyway.

Probable. The voters don't seem to like to demote their teams more than five or six spots after a loss.

This is the issue I have with the human polls. They take a stab in the dark to establish pre season rankings ...and once those rankings are established they consider it the Bible with positions changing grudgingly as we begin to get some meaningul results in October.

I agree. Why worry about one week? If we beat OU, we will be ranked. If we don't, we won't be. It is amazing that Texas won't drop further, but so many teams behind them lost as well.

I don't think it will happen this week although it should in my opinion. Typically when a bunch of teams lose like that the voters will kind of do a reset. That said, beat OU and it doesn't matter.

They bring huge basketball market and are decent in football- I bet Louisville could beat Kansas.

UT will be ranked like 24-25, I could see TCU and Vanderbilt just above UT. Northwestern above TCU and Vandy. Michigan, Arizona, and Washington dropped from the rankings.

They fit in the conference footprint. I have a lot of respect for Charlie Strong and think it could grow into a decent football school. I also don't think big 12 would take them in first round of expansion, I think maybe in 2 years and at that point Strong more than likely will turn their football around.
