Now granted, my scouting expertise is extremely limited. And maybe it was just one game. But based on effort and production in that one game, one of the most highly rated players in the nation -- I said the nation -- performed like a guy who was borderline even for a walk-on offer from a small college.
On some snaps, he wanted to play, and he dominated. But that wasn't very many snaps. Mostly, he was being controlled at the line of scrimmage by a kid who was 7 inches shorter and giving up more than 100 pounds, according to the program I purchased.
No hustle, and very limited effort, and he also had the mope-around attitude, particularly on the sidelines. Some of his team's assistant coaches appeared to be jumping his butt, but the verbal lashing was followed with a disinterested shrug.

If that is the kid, betcha Saban either whips the attitude into shape or finds a way for him to be in street clothes pretty quick. If true, Saban probably knows it and can risk a flyer considering he signed every other 5 star in the country.

Yep. All of this. No reason for Bama not to take a guy with extreme potential.

There have been rumors since Robinson was a soph that he was lazy and didn't seem to care. He is a good kid, by all accounts, but was known to not give full effort. His performance against Birdville in the playoffs as a junior was breathtaking and had to have coaches salivating. The other time I saw him play he looked to be lost and going through the motions.

He should have gone to Texas. He would have fit in perfectly there.

Ni kidding. Another prima donna in the land of prima donnas. Saban will either make a player out of him or he'll be transferring to Florida A&M in a year or so

Rhodes and Robinson should of gone to TCU. TCU should be able to close the doors on Fort Worth and the community should want to see TCU be successful. TCU has been good as long as the athletes have known and played sports/football, these Fort Worth athletes should be wanting to go to TCU first, not Baylor, not UT. Fort Worth stars should be a lock for TCU.
