What comes next? Navy SEALs sneaking through the bleachers to deliver free pizzas? Beer sold in combat-boot-shaped cups? Or maybe miniature drones dropping T-shirts onto the crowds below?

Mini drones dropping tshirts would be cool

If these people have their way, before you know it, we all be chained up in solar-powered asparagus gulags, being force-fed birth control pills by illegal immigrants who will gay-marry us to endangered sea turtles.*

Have you ever looked around at a sporting event and seen how many things are being sold to you and how people want to associate themselves with sports?

Tanning booths, gambling, banks, restaurants, jewelers, health insurers, auto and home insurers, pawn shops, etc.

The military is advertising too. Do you think it is free to have guys jump out of airplanes? Why do they do it? How do they justify the cost? It is to sell the brand. You may like the brand and support it, but it is still advertising.

Do you support the right of free people to criticize advertising? Must we agree with all advertising? It really isn't the same thing as supporting our military servicemen to ooh and aah at parachutists.

Is the cost of flyovers and such an example of government waste?

For such an educated person, Dr. Jenkins' position is both sophomoric and myopic. Replace "patriotism at sporting events" with "breast cancer awareness at sporting events"...and I wonder if her rhetoric would change.

Everyone has a right to their own opinion, but this statement defies logic:

"It was everything that the flag is built on, everything that is continuing to happen and things that haven’t even happened yet.”

That's just the same thinking that guns rights people are fueled by. They're as mad about the possibility of gun confiscation as if it already happened. They've already set the trajectory of the course of history and responding to their imagining of the future.

in the case of Obama Care your going to wish more people were smart enough to have made a similar projection!

I'm in favor of the Founding Fathers health care plan, personally. Where the government owes you nothing, and you take accountability for your own life's decisions. If you find yourself downtrodden through bad luck, misfortune, or accident, there are many in your community who will reach out a hand to help give you a leg up. Self reliance and self determination are the conjoined, altruistic, fundamental elements of human existence. Rugged individualism - when combined with perseverance, optimism and effort - results in a rising tide that lifts everyone, whether on the boat or in the water. And if you're on the boat, pick up an oar and row, lest you walk the plank. Laziness has no place in this great nation.
