FORT WORTH -- Gary Patterson, who has graduated over the years from noted football thinker to sage, spent only a portion of his 45 minutes with local media Wednesday talking the astronomy of recruiting and the two, three and four stars who make up his Class of 2019.

He likes this roundup of recruits, a cast firmed up on Wednesday with seven guys who signed national letters of intent, joining 22 who did the same in December.

Great article.

One my hunting buddies is a retired HS varsity football and JV baseball head coach.

He made his players and their parents sign a "contract" (obviously not legally binding) for the season.

Basically a commitment to the program, showing up at practice, grades, parents following up if there is a problem at home, etc.

Varsity coach hated him because of his relationship with his freshmen and sophomore players.

Maybe Mom, Dad, Uncle Billy, etc. need to sign a TCU letter of intent too.

Call it a letter of "Let TCU do its job and the Frogs will give you back a mature man or woman".
