Thanks for the prayers and thoughts. My son came in tonight and they spent some time together at our house. It was good. I’m hopeful for their ability to cope with this tragedy. It was good to see them together and to hear her laugh.

I did hear words that no person ever wants to hear. She ordered the urn for our granddaughter.

I don’t know if they’ll end up together long term. This is a lot for anyone to deal with and their relationship had struggles even before this happened. However we do love her like a daughter and want to do whatever it takes to help our son and his girlfriend.

Update

She went to a new doctor and she confirmed the diagnosis

They will induce labor the first week of December, our granddaughter should be born alive and then suffocate to death

Also, the mother broke up with our son last weekend

So another prayer for everyone involved would be appreciated, none of us are handling this well

We have some very close friends who lost a child shortly after birth. The went on to have two other health children, the oldest of whom is named Sophie.
