Potential Offensive explosion for TCU in the bowl game..,

So I haven't heard anyone mention this, but it's a theory I just came up with in my head... How valuable is this extra month of practice for Boykin? Considering he was thrown into the fire midseason and hasn't had much of a chance to breathe, I feel like this break between the bowl game could end up being more valuable than any of us could imagine. Think about it. An extra month as the starting QB to not only rest up, but to gel more with his receivers, and become more comfortable with his reads.

This is my bold prediction: Boykin and our offense will absolutely light it up against MSU. They won't know what hit them.

I don't know about "light it up" but I think there is certainly some validity to thinking the extra time off will be very beneficial for Boykin. If we score 24 or more then I'll be very happy.

I don't know if I go as far as to say "light them up." but I wouldn't be surprised if I offense is much more oriented than expected. Michigan State just spent a whole season shutting down power running teams from the Big Ten. TCU won't be winning this game on the ground.

Michigan State held Wisconsin to 19 yards rushing. Yes, 19 yards. TCU will lose this game if we don't get the passing game going, because our run game isn't going to work.

This game reminds me a little bit of the Boise State game last year, with Boise's great front seven. In order to win this game, TCU needs to take it to the perimeter and try and beat them with our skill position players. I like our WRs' chances of beating their DBs much better than I like our O-lines' chances of beating their D-line. Spread Michigan State out and hope guys like Josh Boyce, LaDarius Brown, and Brandon Carter can make a play on the ball.

Last time I looked we still have the same OC calling the plays. I don't expect too much of an offensive explosion.

This game should tell us a lot about our OCs. The best matchup for TCU clearly is our WRs against their DBs. If TCU comes out with a run heavy offensive gameplan, then we all need to cool our expectations for next year because we will know for sure our OCs are terrible.

I'm sure the extra rest and prep will help Boykin immensely but I think you are underestimating the MSU defense and overlooking our offensive line (which is down a starter). I'd be shocked if our offense put up more than 24.

Maybe so. But I honestly think we can claim to have the best receiving corps in the country. If our o-line can give TB a little time and he can visually slow the game down and find the open receiver, I think we could have an air raid like we did against Boise. BUT we have to attack vertically.

Better hope our defense is going to score points...we're not coming close to 30 without a few special teams/defensive TDs.

Of course there is the possibility of MSU folding like a cheap tent and not showing up for this game, as they have done before in bowl games. But the reports seem to suggest they are at least excited to hit people.

16-14 final

I think Boykin was really really banged up at the end of the season. I think him being 100% healthy is going to make a huge difference.

Extra time is always good. I would be shocked if we score more than 20 unless our d is involved. Lets hope they are dumb enough to pass out of norm for that to be in play.
