Meh. He disappeared for stretches every game and got pushed around too much for a guy his size. He can take his soft game elsewhere.
i don't fully agree but to a degree you're right. The duke game really showed the difference between a high floor nba guy in Boozer and Punch. I didn't want to lose him, but I'm not sure this changes our ceiling much(of course, dependent on who we can bring in. We need guards in a hurry. Maybe this was a budget thing. If i had to guess, we probably pushed out Edwards, Simmons and Posey. LT Wanted to keep, but we can hopefully find a better athlete in his position. WE need shooting for sure though, desperately.

you see how much size alone can change things. Not saying this new guy Hunt from the JUCO School is adai mara, but , he looks skilled and is a bigger body than punch. Him or diallo at C, Edmonds PF, robinson SF, Harding PG, Trent Lincoln, not sure, but thats a solid start

He is a guy with a great skill set. Can play bigger than his 6-7 size. Seems to go through low motor minutes. Maybe just needs a change.
Plays calculated in my opinion. When the game is on the line he seems to just go stronger and has several and ones in crunch time of several games. He will be hard to replace. Wish him well but wish he was still here. Edmonds has the better offensive skill set but gets into foul trouble a lot

Agree, but why wait til the game is on the line?

With Punch gone, Dixon is really gonna have to work some magic to grab a true scorer. It’s not going to be easy to replace one of our best defenders who also shot 51%.

Punch averaged 1.7 points per game more than Edmonds but played 7 more minutes per game. Edmonds made 47% 3’s, Punch 24%. Eager to see Edmonds with more minutes but needs to cut down on fouls. If we can get some good minutes from some other big guys, Edmonds should thrive. One downside is Edmonds is a senior and Punch a junior.

No doubt X was right there with Punch stat-wise. But who takes up that slack or fills the void? Really excited to have X back as he was the most physical guy on the team and always plays fired up.
