Was I supposed to type something here?
Man, he's saying a lot of the right things.
As recent history shows, his words are entirely empty. Happy talk to decorate the moment, nothing more.

The real story is when the deal was done (a couple of weeks ago, apparently), what they are going to pay him and what perks will be included (Penthouse suite at the Google Tower?), and what color his ski boat will be...

Aaaawww, someone got their lil feelings hurt.

After graduating from TCU, my son went to A&M Law. We went with him to an introductory session for parents and new students. They tried to introduce us to all the Aggie cult traditions and told us how "proud" we should now be of our new status as Aggie students and parents. I looked at my son and he just shook his head.

Afterwards, he said, "Did they think I was just gonna abandon my alma mater and bill myself as an Aggie? I'm not here to be an Aggie. I'm here to study the practice of law. And when I graduate, I'll still be a purple-blooded Horned Frog."

My daughter also is a TCU undergrad and A&M Law grad. She got her Aggie ring. When she goes to court, she looks up to see where the judge went to college. If he went to A&M, she puts on the ring. Otherwise she never wears it.

Weird parallels. When Deep Jr. graduated from A&M Law, his Aggie aunt and uncle bought him an A&M ring. He only wore it on job interviews with firms that had Aggies in key roles. Hasn't worn it since.

Great tip about noting the alma mater of judges. I'll pass this on to him.
